TNVC recently completed another Nightfighter 101 class at Badlands Tactical in Grandfield, OK. The facilities are great and the range work well for our class objectives. We were able to conduct a Night Fighter 201 at the facility at the same time and never had the two classes conflict with each other. This is another staple location for us, and we will continue to train here for the foreseeable future.
The weather was unusually warm with highs in the 90s and the lows in the high 60s. The dry environment can take its toll on students and equipment alike, but the students kept themselves hydrated and their weapons lubricated resulting in productive training on both nights. We had no major equipment issues in the class.
This was a fun class as we had a bunch of last minute cancellations—life does happen—so we were able to run a single relay and get a lot done in a short amount of time. We exceeded the course objectives due to the single relay, and the students did a great job processing information. This class was remarkable because there wasn’t anything remarkable about them—just a solid group of shooters that did well in the course.
Night Fighter 101 is the first step into becoming someone who is “confident, competent, and capable” in the use of night vision technology and leads directly into our Night Fighter 201, where we continue to expand on the principles learned in Night Fighter 101. Now that the students have an understanding of the skills, 201 allows the students to practice the application of those skills.
We announce our 2024 schedule today, and we will be back in OK several times next year for the full spectrum of our courses.
Additionally, several companies generously stepped up to offer students swag and such for their attendance. We really appreciate their generosity and are proud to have them associated with our classes.
