TNVC recently completed another Nightfighter 201 class for the fall season and our first ever at the Pro Gun Club in Boulder City, NV. We have been waiting for this opportunity to do NF201 at this venue—the timing worked out great for October and we hope to do more 201s here. The facilities are great and the ranges work well for our class objectives. In fact, we were able to conduct a Night Fighter 101 at the facility at the same time and never had the two classes conflict with each other. This is another solid and reliable location for us, and TNVC will continue to train here for the foreseeable future.
The weather was unexpectedly warm with highs in the 90s and only going down to about 70 overnight. Even working inside was warm and challenging at times. We powered through the temps, and there were no issues at all associated with the weather.
We had a healthy mix of law enforcement professionals and open enrollment civilians in this class. This made for some great conversations and talking points during the weekend regarding technology use and how it can apply across multiple capabilities the varied audience was looking for. Instruction doesn’t always have to be doing something—experienced students discussing challenging topics in a professional manner is still education. It was very enjoyable to be part of these great discussions.
We had little to no equipment issues, and one student even completed the course with a Gen2 PVS14. Can you see in the dark? Yep. Work the problems as you can, and learn what you can, and cannot do, with the gear. Plus “dancing with the girl you brought” building confidence in your kit—it is what you will have when you need it.
This class is a course that focuses on technology runs and repetitions. Less instruction, and more facilitation. Be ready to go at the start of the class, plan for a long day, and have fun!
Watch for the 2024 TNVC Training schedule to be announced soon.
Additionally, several companies generously stepped up to offer students swag and such for their attendance. We really appreciate their generosity and are proud to have them associated with our classes.
