these two holes

If like to buy aftermarket screws for a mount I'm trying to make and wondered if anyone knew.

Rugers closed for the holidays, but I'll bother them on Monday if need be.

thanks

I do not know for sure, but 6-48 and 8-40 are the most common optic base screw sizes....but Ruger often uses 6-40 for sights and other parts. Do you have any of those 3 on hand to try?
(The front sight screw on a Ruger Mark 2/3 22 auto pistol is 6-40)

I hadn't tried 6-40

6-48 didn't work, but I'll pick up a 6-40 and give it a try

thanks

I'm not sure why, the only thing I can think of is it fits in the cut for the rear ring nicely

I really have no idea why

Not that uncommon, the beloved Mossberg 500 and 590 front bead is a 5-40 thread.

It looks like that 5-40 hole is just the right size/width to fit in the Ruger ring slot, and it you get too heavy handed and strip the threads in that hole(s) you can easily retap to 6-40 or 6-48.
