It’s a weird overpriced niche rifle, but I’d still like to know more. There are a bunch of GunTuber reviews which are more or less informational / serious. Does anybody here have experience with one? Fired one? Any thoughts?

I don’t have an HCAR but I do have a 1918a3 BAR from Ohio Ordnance. Its build quality is on another level compared to any other new production weapon I’ve ever looked at. Very, very fine piece of equipment. I can shoot a 10 shot group into about 2” at 100 yards with the iron sights and PPU ammo.
Handled an HCAR at the same time I bought mine, and it was significantly lighter than the regular BAR. One nice thing about it is that you can shoot whatever kind of .30-06 you want in it as the gas system isn’t sensitive to pressure curves and whatnot like a Garand is. Military surplus ammo, hot hunting rounds, these things can shoot them all. |

There is a certain level of nostalgia that interests me...even if it is in a modern adaptation. And if I had the spare money, I'd probably be much more interested.
