I have a Benelli M1, with the choke system.

I vaguely remember reading that when using Federal's Flite Control buckshot, that you should use a more open choke, as (maybe?) it was designed to be shot from Cylinder Bore shotguns and doesn't do as well if the wad gets constricted via the choke.

Is this the case, or am I jumbling things up?

If so, what's the recommended chock to use - IC?  Mod?

Also, am I correct in saying that to be on the safe side, you shouldn't use Full choke when shooting slugs, and Mod is as tight as you want it?  Or Old Wives tale like modern 30/06 rounds in an M1?

Also (also!), while on the subject of chokes, is there a benefit to using, with buckshot, a choke that's been designed for patterning buckshot?  Again, I vaguely remember looking at chokes that were specially made to use with buck, and how they would decrease pattern size.  Would these be of benefit with Flight Control rounds, or are those already about as good as you're going to get with any pattern?

Thanks,

Read the instructions of the product page , and the comments . Everyone says its a very tight pattern . Try your most open tube you have and experiment with the chokes you have , as every guns shoots a little differently . Find which choke patterns they way you want .

Every shotgun & load is Unique in that you can take consecutive shotguns off an assembly line, feed them ammo from the same box and each may shoot completely different patterns.

I'd stay more "open" with a skeet or Improved Cylinder and see what you get.  Generally buckshot doesn't like tighter chokes.

And don't shoot slugs from a full or turkey choke either.   Slugs are already slightly oversized to swage down the barrel as they exit, so too tight a choke tube (expecially with slugs) does nobody any good.
