Great idea!

Here's a quick stage from our local match here in OKC last weekend:

We are lucky to have some of the best local matches around.

Not a major match, just one I put together.  This was my Veteran's Day tribute to John Basilone, complete with grenade toss
and WC 1917 Machinegun.  I think all that set up wore me out because my run wasn't very good, but it sure was fun.

Veterans Day 3Gun

Another little stage I did for Halloween last year.  This was before I bought shell caddys and learned the weak-hand reload,
boy that shotgun reload was slow!

Next time tell your camera man to move closer. The RO's are usually very helpful as long as safety is priority.

Thanks.  Yeah, my buddy was a little timid about getting in the way so he stayed back.

I was happy with my performance, at least I didn't come in dead last, that's all I wanted for my first time out...

My first 3gun

My second 3gun

I need to work on stage planing, the match director said I am thinking to much while the clock is ticking and that is costing me most of my time.  Once I get that down I can upgrade my gear from the 3-12 scope and swap out the homemade caddies.

ACTS is a 'Tactical Rifle/Pistol' competition

I let AR15.com choose my adventure and I wound up using an Spike 16" Middy, 1911 (actually a 1991A1).

Stage 1

Stage 2
Cost me 1st place in 'Service', forgot to shoot the steel and had to run back, not once, but twice lol....

Stage 3
Texas Star took long then I would have liked and they had one of the plate as a 'No Shoot'...

Stage 4
Forgot my sling...

This was a fund raising match for one of the local clubs that have an upcoming legal battle with the town. I managed to place 1st in "tactical" division, even with a few issues during the run.

We only have one dedicated 3-Gun match per year so we're not as polished as most, but we have fun. We also use a different scoring system where each target is worth one point and your time determines your rank within the number of targets you hit. Missing even one target will cost you dearly.

I shot a steel match at the local club this past weekend. Ended up 4 out of 57, not a bad finish overall. After the pistol match there was a 2 stage shotgun side match they had setup. My wife was just there to spectate, but after much heckling she was given a Saiga 12 and shot her first official match. Im proud of her, and she did well for her first time. Heres a quick clip from one of the stages.

Very cool!  Natural terrain local matches are hard to find.

Thanks, I only have room to do one stage, not a full multi-stage match, but I try to make the most of it.
I like lots of running, climbing, obstacles, etc.  To me, that is what makes three-gun so much fun.

I shot two matches this weekend. A USPSA 5 stage classifier pistol match in Kenai and an outlaw multigun match in Anchorage. The multigun match was a smaller match with less turn out due to the weather. But the shooters who were there are all stiff competition. The rules vary a bit for the normal. The match director lumps limited and tactical into one division and open is open. He also does not limit magazine capacity on limited so I used my 7 shot magazine extensions I had mistakenly ordered for my M2 when I first got it. (did not know I needed a +6) So I could get 11 rounds in my M2. The match director also allows us to shoot both divisions if you pay to shoot both.  Since I drive 2 hours to get to the matches I want to shoot as much as possible. Anyway I took 1st in limited and 2nd in open. The shotgun vest made the difference as I was able to load fast with the slugs.  In open I have found out the key to keeping my R&R Saiga running was to follow Rob’s (the maker of the gun) advice and put a new recoil spring in at regular intervals. Three of us shot my Saiga and it did not malfunction at all during this match with multiple different types of ammunition from game loads to slugs and pheasant loads.

The pistol match had a lot more shooters and the scores have not been posted yet so not sure how I did. I shot open.  I think I got 2nd or 3rd.
