   No, It's not actually moving. Just an optical trick on your eyes.  Sniper-kitty Atomic Blast (taken at 1/1000,000,000 of-a-second)  Harold Edgerton built a special lens 10 feet long for his camera which was set up in a bunker 7 miles from the source of the blast which was triggered Nevada - the bomb placed atop a steel gantry anchored to the desert floor by guide wires. The exposures are at 1/100,000,000ths of a second.  In a millisecond the blast expands; lightning caused by the force of the energy travels down the guide wires The desert floor was turned to glass.  In another millionth of a second, a planet of fire exists, silhouetting and dwarfing the Joshua Trees. Freaky. |

 I snapped this pic during hurricane katrina:  After hurricane Wilma:  Beleive it or not, there's an E-250 cargo van under that tree...  The road down my block, driving a jeep sure did payoff:   getting out of the neighborhood was hit or miss, most blocks were cut off with either downed lines or trees.  |

you are right it is Frances, looks just like the size of andrew, but this one never hit us. at least south fl. don't worry, no drudged up memories.  we didn't do too bad. Home depot fked everyone on frances, the media (especially WSVN Channel 7) hyped it up big time, and claimed it was going to have a direct impact. everyone took it real serious after andrew, and stocked up bigtime. all home depots sold out on tapcons, plywood, generators etc... and then didnt accept returns after the hurricane missed us and went north. here's andrew:  |
