Here is the NRA-ILA's second response: Though the NRA-ILA has limited resources, we are doing our best to have the biggest impact. Right now that means we must pass HR 800, the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. If that doesn't pass, our manufacturers and dealers will be sued out of business and we'll all be in a world of hurt. We are focusing our lobbying efforts on attainable and necessary legislation and then we'll move on to our second tier of legislation. While HR 1703 is a good bill, it will not come out of committee no matter how hard we lobby on the bill. There are other politics in play regarding the bill sponsor in which the NRA plays no role at all. Unfortunately, that means Congressman Paul is at the mercy of the committee and it's chairman. Someday we'll be able to pass similar legislation, but right now we have to make sure the firearm industry is not destroyed. Sincerely, Joel Brewer |

See they are caving in.
Their original form response [and yes, it's a form response] was harsher. Now they are apologetic in their tone. It's working. |
C'MON PEople! Almost 2000 reads and only a hundred replies, Thats PATHETIC! Get the lead out it will only take a minute or two
The NRA are the peeps who are to be contacted ATM. They are the ones who can break or make this. Fire at coordinates! |
Call Jim McCrery's of Louisiana office in Washington his aide or whoever answers his phone is an NRA member and judging by his asking me questions I would venture to say he is a gun nut. Somehow I think a messsage relayed to this guy will get through.
ETA: McCrery is Co-Chair of the W & M comm. Keep harassing the NRA and Rep's and Sen's. Also the bill is up in the judiciary committee as well swamp them too. |
Head of Judiciary CommitteeSensenbrenner had an A rating with the NRA!!! Were still fucked??
Letter sent, lets put him on the lists too. More Republicans in the Jud. Comm. by about 5. The committee should be freindly. |
I sent my e-mail via NRAILA last week.
Do you think that sending more e-mails will get my e-mail blocked by their server ? Also, which has more effect : E-mails or Snail Mail ? How can I contribute and kick ass any more ? Let me know and I will act ! |
both...... send both if you can. snailmail is more efficient. but every bit helps. |
also see page 1 links under my first post. |
No. Besides, you can always have multiple e-mail adresses... want a Gmail invite, by the way?
Damned if I know. |

Does anyone know what the issues are with the bill sponser that the NRA reffered to? |
I keep runnin' into a brick wall w/ the NRA, maybe this new Co-Sponsor can help. If not it is a move in the RIGHT direction

Gotta love Idaho.
May 19, 2005 Mr. Brett xxx P.o. Box xxxx xxxxx, ID xxxxx Dear Brett, Thank you for contacting me regarding your support for H.R. 1703, the Second Amendment Protection Act. I appreciate hearing your comments. As you know, H.R. 1703 repeals the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act and the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act. Currently, this bill is under review in the House Committee on the Judiciary. Like you I agree these laws have proven ineffective in controlling crimes with guns and must be repealed. For this reason I have become a cosponsor of this legislation. You can be confident I will work with my colleagues to see this bill becomes law during the 109th Congress. Again, thank you for contacting me. Please continue to keep me informed of your views on the issues that are important to you. As always, "Idaho - Esto Perpetua" ? C.L."Butch" Otter Member of Congress CLO/mmj |

Just make sure you hit the Judiciary and Ways and Means committees. Yor respective Rep's and Sen's as well as their chairmen abd co-chairman. Also let the NRA, GOA, and anyone else know how unhappy you are they spending their total effort protecting manufacturers and not owners.
Butch Otter cosponsored the bill last year.
I'm sure he is cosponsoring it this year too. CRC |
Exactly my view. |
Thanks. |

You're welcome.
Is everybody still mailing and calling? Any new responses? |
Mailing and calling-YES
New responses-NO My Rep who is a DemocRAT has not replied, freakin ASSHAT |
there's no news really...... I don't know what's going on. people seem to not be interested in getting their rights back is all I can see. We have a tiny minority of this board working at it, and that's it. pretty sad.
It is very sad some don't seem to care or are even trying. Grant it I have run into roadblocks w/ my rep and the NRA but I'm STILL trying. Its sad to repeatedly hear the excuse "it wont do any good" "its a waste of time" etc; We have seen the enemy and its our own kind |
Good to know that some people are keeping up the good work. I sent off another one to the NRA-ILA today. |
Agreed, Folks should be all over this. Where is the Team Spirit? |

Agreed, Folks should be all over this. Where is the Team Spirit? Well, I am doing my part. Now, peeps, c'mon, we [and the NRA] could do better. |
call and voice your support to Congressmen Thomas and Sensenbrenner, tell them you want to see this come to the floor for a vote. HR 1703.
Rep Thomas: 1-202-225-2915 Rep Sbrenner: 1-202-225-5101 |

2799 times read that's just over 5% of people here who replied WTF Again, apathy at it's finest use it or lose it folks |
pretty much....... we're screwed. Those who are apathetic are cowards and deserve no freedom at all.
hmm I don't know. I think California is too far gone but the sporting purpose removal might do a little damage to it.
People there would be able to own USAS-12's? |
You could own handguns like PPKs and mini Glocks? |
You also need to contact the committee heads. |
