Lots of those types of rocks out here. Once I swap out the front and rear bumpers, add an Icon lift and 35"s it will be fine. The interior is mint and all the body panels except the lower valances are pristine. Figure thats what they were made for right. You'd cry if you see some of the areas I take my LX470! |

I come up there pretty often and usually stay in Idaho Falls, the rocks looked familiar. I'd recommend against Icon, personally. Their shocks are setup for on-road handling with digressive valving. I'll be pulling all of mine in the next few weeks and changing out the compression valve stacks to linear.

They come very highly recommended on Ih8mud. I better do more research then. Icons are custom valved w/ Total Chaos UC's and OME rear springs are pretty common. That or just OME's all the way around but that setup wont clear 35"s. |

That or just OME's all the way around but that setup wont clear 35"s. All Icon shocks use digressive compression damping. In my experience, everyone LOVES expensive shocks they have bought. Icon are the cat's ass on all the 4Runner/FJC/Tacoma forums, too. The very stiff low speed compression does a great job of controlling body roll, nose dive under braking, and squat on acceleration. At high speeds, large bumps, they are awesome - hit a huge pot hole or speed bump at 70, it's like it wasn't even there. High speed off road is great, too. On the other hand, at lower speed, you will feel every ripple, pebble, and imperfection in the road. Unpaved roads that you can't do 50+ on will rattle your teeth out unless you air down. If you want to spend a bunch of money, they have ones with adjustable compression damping. If I did it over, I would probably get King or Radflo. Make sure to get their "shin guards" (I think that's what they call them) for the rear shocks. The exposed lower shaft on the rear shocks get pitted by gravel and rocks thrown up by the front tires, destroying the seals. My first ones lasted like 10K miles, with the shin guards no problems in 50K miles. No complaints on the newer TC UCAs with stainless uniballs. |

That's the big one. You couldn't park in a spot where anybody else could park on the passenger side or else you'd get trapped between the two doors taking the baby out. Later, when she could get out on her own the back doors don't open without opening the front door and unbuckling your seat belt. Also, the car seat had to go in the middle of the back seat which meant climbing in to put her in/take her out. Also, no rear heat/ac. ETA. She also couldn't see out the windows which would drastically shorten her patience for car rides. |
