I'm new and don't have a clue what happened between these sites in the past.  Whatever did happen, why let it prevent the formation of what could be our most powerful tool?  Past or not, to deny this is foolish, and to accept defeat in my eyes. There will be no, and shouldn't be any room left for bitching about bans when they come, by those who would oppose this.  Grow up, man up, tech up and lets get this done.  If I can be of any assistance let me know.

Thank You Beer Slayer

i appreciate you opening the topic.  I think it would send a Big message if the two sites could get together on this issue.

I mean imagine the possiblility. I Banner or a button of some kind that constantly updates all the sites wher to focus their efforts.

Senators, Zumbo's etc would receive thousands. of e-mails letters and phone calls.

there is a LOT of history between our boards that many newbs don't know about and won't understand. it's a shmae but it's going to take a LOT of work before the boards can work things out.

I hope it can be worked out.

We need to bury the hatchet and unite as gun owners because after the AWBII hits us this website will be nothing but about how things were and the relics that people keep in there safe for worry of them being distroyed.

I can't think of any personal quarrels that are more important than creating a united front on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Progress Update
FROM GUNSNET

Management has agreed to set up the dedicated sub forum for the effort to begin hashing out a formal game plan. It will be ready in the next day or so, and I will edit permissions so that our various board and blog delegates can have a private place to meet and hash out the works without our opposition's prying eyes, or without those few among our various boards who still harbor silly grudges and would gladly sow nothing good.

Once we have the various delegates in good numbers, it will be up to them to hash out a workable plan, present it to the various boards for feedback, then finalize the plan to get things into operation.

I propose we name this the I2A Coalition (Internet 2nd Amendment Coalition) or something like that to identify this unique and never done before effort.

Any fresh ideas are welcome, discuss here.

Delegates, please PM me if you are coming from another board as a representative so I will be able to give you access to the delegates sub forum

I like this idea, and we can make it work if we put aside the stupid shit and concentrate on what counts in this fight.

I'm in!

Doesn't mean we shouldn't try.

I don't agree with everything said on Assault Web and I think some of the gunsnet crowd doesn't like me, but I sure as shit have more in common with them than those who want to ban AK-47s.

We can agree to disagree on other shit later when we aren't under the gun.

+1.  No matter how big the disagreements, we have far more to worry about right now.  We need to get together on this issue and get the ball rolling.  Gun owners have been far too silent and it is time to speak up and start educating the public.  Only a few of them will take the time to learn about the issue.  I'd say that 99% of the publics' response will be based solely on what they see in the media and their personal emotions.  Facts play little to no part in their decision making process.  It is time that we do something to change that.

Again, I really think that we might be able to get farther if we let the party know as a whole how we feel on the issues. These are the people who ultimately choose who we put up as a candidate, they are the ones who set up the party platform. These people, along with our elected representatives are responsible for selling us out as conservatives/gun owners.

I don't know who would be the best one to contact, but I'd think that the chairman would be a good start. These people are more likely to filter back our opinions than some unpaid intern I would think. These people are the ones who really have something to lose.

I really think that if we get enough people contacting the RNC the effects will be more far reaching than simply contacting our individual reps.  The reps might get 5-10 letters, that isn't going to seem to be that big of a deal to them.  If the RNC starts to get thousands of e-mails from all over the country about one issue, I think that they might take notice.

Off the top of my head, a couple of suggestions:

1. Bartholomew_Roberts, and
2. CRC.

Judging from the subject matter and frequency of their posts, these two guys are immersed up to their eyeballs in "All-Things-RKBA-Related"...

I agree that we need to focus our efforts. one important office receiving 5000 letters is much more powersful than one rep receiving 5. We need to decide who is important to hit and then focus on them one at a time.

Right now it is in comittee right? Who decides if it passes through?

I think it's a great idea.  With our help, we can probably raise the awareness of the 'Fudds' and let them know that their deer rifles are high powered sniper rifles in the eyes of the gun grabbers.

I think it is definitely worth a shot and will do what I can.

Also, the duck hunters shotguns are 'traceless', mass killing machines, able to expel numerous bullets at once, giving more thrust per squeeze.
