One of my very attractive employees wants to start carrying a gun while jogging. Not sure how she is going to do it, but she really wants the protection. Anybody have a suggestion for a very small and light weight gun? Eta: Imgur ain't loading for me. I'll post a pic of her as soon as they unfuck their site. She's the one on the left. The one on the right is my wifey. http://i.imgur.com/Ocwdaho.jpg View Quote I volunteer for protective detail. I will stay right behind her. she jogs in yoga pants right? |

I saw once where a armband Ipod holder was used to hold a P3AT or LCP.

A fully loaded 9mm is altogether too heavy and large for a small to medium sized frame woman to carry while jogging. That is like running with an extra c-cup teet. I'd recommend a .380 such as a Sig P238 . It very small (not much bigger than an iPhone), holds 6 rounds (Desert model with pinky extension), and is light weight. With proper practice as all guns need, it is very accurate. It what my wife uses, and she's very accurate with it. View Quote I agree. I would also look at the new Bodyguard 380 sans laser shown at shot show. Would be nice and thin. |

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that if she gets a pistol and not a revolver, make sure she can easily slide the rail back. if not, that gun may not be for her. My wife was all over the Ruger LCP, but when we went to check it out, the slide was hard for her to operate. Luckily, the nice saleslady made some other recommendations like the BG380 w/ laser. Wife loved everything about it. Now she has one... with a shit eating grin I might add.

Go with a Ruger Lcp 380 you'll be glad you did. Anything bigger and she won't carry it cause it will be too bulky when jogging. I carry my glock 26 when out and about but my lcp 380 when jogging or wearing tighter clothes

HOLY SHIT, pics have finally fucking loaded.
I WILL BE IN MY BUNK. Mean time, get the nice young lady another strong beverage. and a S&W shield |

Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 38 if she has trouble with the slide. It has a polymer frame, shoots +p and has a laser built in. I got one for my birthday and got the XS Big Dot from the big brown truck today.
I'll let you know how it shoots.

Keltec .380 or the Ruger knockoff.
I have the micro 9's, but for Jogging, I can't see sticking to anything but the .380's This is the only realistic answer. Have her borrow a .38 and a 9mm to try out, if she is seriously considering either. |

the PT-2 holster posted above looks more feasible for a lady runner
I dont really know of any other holsters that would be both secure and not get in the way of the mechanics of running I dont think she would go fanny pack havent seen one yet a lady would consider wearing in public |

I vote for the LCP. I carry mine to the gym and jog with it without an issue. Great, light weight little pistol.

Wait till you can get a new Rem R51. I'm in FL and volunteer to provide security.

My wife carries an LCP. It sucks to shoot but is the lightest available.

I don't usually recommend snubs for women because of how they handle, but if she is an avid shooter, a 642 is perfect and its a little hardier for Florida's climate than a lot of autos. The only rust I ever got was on the grip screw. My daughters carry one while walking the dog and I run with one carried at 1:00 with no problem. Get her some good .38 defense rounds and she has 5 shots that will be lethal at GTFO-me distance.
As far as others suggestions - I have a PPS but it is not great for running or biking, at least while carrying Appendix.

Is ar wife Greek?
511 makes a low profile slim fanny pack made just to carry a pistol. It holds any handgun very tight against the body so it doesn't jump around. Nplus it is ez access |

I run with an LCP in a kydex holster that I made. I tried running with my Glock but it just wasn't happening. I've never had an issue with it and I've fired a few hundred rounds through it. I average about 30 miles a week and it is perfect for my needs.
I can see people doing it with an LCR but I wouldn't feel comfortable reloading in a hurry. |

Snappy but accurate, it would be easier to hold onto with smaller hands. Light weight and you can use softball loads to +P so I am a fan.

Women usually wear those little hot pants and tanks whilst running so the gun would not really conceal under clothes.
Yeah, those shorts, problem with them is u gotta wash them every day. Doesn't seem practical. Course, she could wear em once then sell them to the leg bumpers on the GD for a profit |
