Hello GD, it's me again.
My body is ready for the lashings Here is a link to our latest video New Contender for Hunting & PRS | Vortex Viper HD 5-25X50 I definitely think right off the batt that we need to find a better way to stabilize the scope cam footage when at full magnification so we aren't killing people with motion sickness. I don't know how much shorter we can make the gun porn intro/ads, but we tried hard to get WAY more B roll and WAY less of our ugly mugs on screen. What did we miss? What would you like to see done better/differently? |

Didn’t watch the whole video but I made it past the first 45 seconds which is a marked improvement over previous videos. I have been pretty harsh on some of the videos so I feel like I owe you a thumbs up when they don’t suck. Nothing really stood out to me as a negative.

I have more questions about Vortex than the video this go round. This seems rather repetitive when they have the Strike Eagle 5-25 and the 5-25x Viper PST gen 2. This one uses the same zero stop as the Strike Eagle which is much easier to use than the Viper PST but it's a 30mm tube so it ends up with less adjustment internally than the much cheaper Strike Eagle.

The only thing I had issue with was the transition from the intro to the logo. It seemed a little jarring, maybe because of the music switch. You could try the same thing, but instead of two pieces of music, use the same piece for both and fade the music out in the logo portion to the discussion portion. |

That's pretty decent.
I've never had a 5-25, and if I was looking to venture into that world I would consider the video to be informative. Those guys were much less annoying than the average tube reviewers/commentors. I won't watch 1 second of that 5 pins cat, but I watched this one all the way thru. Helpful to somebody like me, who's not versed in that type of optic. |

Better then the last video. I watched all of this one. Maybe I missed it but did you mention the MSRP.

We have a theory that getting into price is partly responsible for a string of demontized videos weve had recently. Demonitized videos don't tend to perform and get way less impressions. |

Not bad. I watched 8min of it. I had to do something so I couldn’t finish it.
I would run the logo intro first…then add some clips…then jump into the video. |

Much better video than your first try. A short lead in to what you are going to do a review on piques my interest much better.
Keep it up. Will watch these videos. |

I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me and say "You're next". They stopped that when I started doing it to them at funerals.

Wasn't bad, I watched it all the way through as I've been looking to replace my Diamondback Tactical FFP 6-24x50 with something close to the same but illuminated.
My opinion: I think you covered the features quite well, had it mounted on a nice rig. Just remind whoever is showing the turret operation to not move the object of attention out of focus or frame. Also.. I get it you have to pay the bills and plug the sponsors, but 15 secs into the plug for the sponsors I fast forward through the remaining 20 secs. Not that I have ADHD or anything, it's just that you kinda already started showcasing the scope and I was ready to receive SCOPE info, not a fricking commercial Talk about cockblocking... Overall, yeah you guys are getting better at it. |

We never run more than 3 sponsors and try to keep ad reads to 15 seconds each. I'm sure we'll always have a portion of the audience that skips some of that, but we try to keep it limited. We get a lot of advertising offers from some of the brands you see on YouTube, like VPN services and identity coverage, but they want us to run 60-90 ads. We decline. |

Well done. Nice review and cool setting. You're way ahead of a lot of other tubers out there.
Looking for feedback is good but don't crowd source the production, it will lose the character you and your guys bring to it. And you probably already know but GD is full of haters that would bitch about free gold bars and blowjobs, so... |

I'm guessing it's either meant to be their cheaper line of scopes or they are changing up their naming convention. |

Much better.
It's interesting to see Vortex adopted Nightforce's button illumination control of the ATACR and NX8. One of your crew needs more dry fire time behind that Way point. Bolt manipulation was lacking. |

You're right, the scope cam portions are a bit nauseating, but I think its better to have them in the video as-is than not at all. A lot of what this scope has to offer is the reticle so I want to see it. Maybe clamp the rifle down in a vice the show the zoom features? It's not bad when someone is shooting, only when they are adjusting magnification.
Overall, I enjoyed the video |

The only thing I can really suggest is use your individual interests and skill sets to your advantage.
If one of your shoots PRS or NRL, let that guy be the voice of precisuin rifle stuff. I mentioned this Vortex copying Nightforce's illumination button in there. Anyone that that does precision rifle stuff picked up on that, and throwing little tidbits in the video goes a long way towards credibility to some viewers. "Oh, this guy knows what he's talking about." Same thing with using the USPSA guy to narrate pistol stuff, and the larger doing battle belt stuff, etc. The triggercam segments were bad. I appreciate showing FFP capabilities for the uninitiated, but the shaking ruined it. Maybe clamp it down in the future. That's just nitpicky stuff, but I thought it was a good video overall. |

I think you guys are on a good track.
The videos aren't egregiously long or verbose. The photography and production value are good. More B-roll and less podcast view is good. I think the bigger challenges to grow are substance: What makes you different than the 87 other Guntube channels? Do you address shortfalls and downsides of products, and if so, how do you approach that problem? Too soft, and you're seen as shills, too harsh, and you lose manufacturers. Personality/chemistry? This is entirely subjective, but some guys interact in a way people like, and some don't. And maybe the hardest one to establish, but why should the audience care about your opinions, and how do you tell/show us that without coming off like a bunch of self-absorbed dicks? Well regarded channels like Forgotten Weapons, 9 Hole, and C_DOES all have areas where they excel at this, and they've demonstrated why we should listen to their opinions about X, Y, or Z. And since you have a round-table/podcast format, maybe we need to know who, if anyone, is the long range guy, or the pistol competition guy, or the optics nerd, or the hardcore NFAids guy, or whatever if you guys are into different things. |

You bring up a good point about finding reasonable ways to increase our collective reputation without being shitass dudes. I think training classes, maybe doing some more competitive shooting, or something like that to maybe prove we are actually competent shooters/people worth listen too would go a long way to gain some ground in this department. I really appreciate this feedback and will definitely add this to our to do list! |
