Yes, you read that right! MotoAmerica have confirmed that the popular Mission King of The Baggers Championship will be joining the MotoGP™ paddock at this year’s Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, which will take place between the 12th and 14th of April. The thundering V-twin machines will be present for the very first time at a MotoGP™ event the Circuit of The Americas hosts two Baggers races, in what is an 18-race season for the series. The two points-paying races will get underway on Saturday, while a three-lap Mission Challenge – involving the six fastest qualifiers – gets set to take place on Friday afternoon, with the winner earning a $5000 prize. This is the official thread I assume? Anybody start an arfcom fantasy league? Qatar starts tomorrow, time is short!
|
|
|
I started a league, “arfcom 2 wheelers” use code “KC72EVWT” to join.
https://fantasy.motogp.com/leagues This year I picked a team of just people I want to cheer for as best as I could within the budget. Trying to pick winners had me cheering for people I didn’t even like before. This time I’m planning on just leaving my riders alone and taking the scores they bring me. |

I honestly searched for a thread to bump yesterday and... shit Was impressive to see Baby Jesus - going to be a fun season. Kid is unreal and those saves were not rookie-like, and real confidence in the wet. Actual session that will determine who goes to Q2 is now tomorrow, on account of the rain, in Qatar. Don't care, still got to watch racing again. ETA: oh yeah! MotoGP is now on Max streaming: As MotoGP pushes to gain a further foothold in the United States, it announced on Thursday afternoon that it has partnered with TNT Sports – part of Warner Bros Discovery - to broadcast the entire 2024 season across the country. In a statement released by MotoGP, it says "truTV and Max's B/R Sports Add-On will show every race of this record-breaking MotoGP season live, including top quality pre-race coverage. Baby Jeebuz is very impressive. I think he can win either Saturday or Sunday this week. Not saying he’s going to but he for sure has the speed and I’m calling for a podium for him this weekend. I think he’s that fast and I don’t think any of this intimidates him. He’s for sure top five.

So nice to have racing on again - it's sad how much I missed it.
Think Simon said post race (or hinted) that Baby J got a green light to go out see what it was like to race in GP, don't worry about tires. And... I... can't... wait! Plus he's not a typical Spaniard. Best thing to happen to the sport in about 25 years Aprilia really need to get rid of their whole stable (get your shit together Joe) - also where I see Fabulous landing unless concessions work. Also, after Sunday who is going to push their bike off starting grid if they kill it? Pit lane start vs back of the grid. Dumb. Think 33 is going to get a few wins this year. Jack? ... Moto3 was amazing last few laps. Surprised more people aren't talking about Pirellis and Moto2. |

I don't understand the hype. When I was about to go to a moto GP at cota, I saw it was 5 laps or something similar and I decided to skip because that's a ton of time to get there and away for a very short race.
Either way, it's entertaining to watch pinball (MM) crash |
|

Not sure what you watched, but a MotoGP race is longer than that. Moto GP at COTA is 20 laps.
The standard number of laps typically ranges from 20 to 30. Each racing circuit determines its own specific number of laps. The race distance covers approximately 60 to 80 miles (equivalent to 100 to 130 kilometers) and lasts approximately 45 minutes. The number of laps for some major MotoGP circuits: Lusail International Circuit, Qatar: 20 laps Mandalika International Street Circuit, Indonesia: 27 laps Termas De Rio Hondo, Argentina: 25 laps Circuit of the Americas, United States: 20 laps Algarve International Circuit, Portugal: 25 laps Circuito De Jerez, Spain: 25 laps Le Mans Circuit, France: 27 laps Autodromo Internazionale Del Mugello, Italy: 23 laps Circuit De Barcelona, Spain: 24 laps Sachsenring, Germany: 30 laps TT Circuit Assen, Netherlands: 26 laps Silverstone Circuit, United Kingdom: 20 laps Red Bull Ring, Austria: 28 laps Motorland Aragon, Spain: 23 laps Twin Ring Motegi, Japan: 24 laps These are the best road race riders in the world riding the fastest road race motorcycles in the world. Moto GP is literally the pinnacle of motorcycle road racing, imo. I mean for a non enthusiast, I guess it might be as interesting as watching a PGA golf tour is to me, but for anyone who has ridden on two motorized wheels competitively, or even rides a motorcycle on a casual basis, it can be simply riveting to watch. I guess you have to realize the difficulty of what they accomplish for 20-30 laps, most of the time without crashing. They are a different kind of athlete, but to me, far more exciting to watch than an NFL, NBA or MLB game. I don't see the fascination at all with those sports. But to each his own. |
