Today is my off-day, but still piddling with work and mixing in food and push-ups.

Sets troughout the day starting at 5AM as follows...  I am done for the day so I can give.my body a rest until BJJ later.

5x50
10x30
10x35
10x30

March 25 - 1,200

2024 Total - 51,306

Edit - My name is Crusty, and I have a problem.

So...I got little things accomplished here and there today.  I also had videos playing in the background of other people accomplishing pull-up and push-up records, so I just kept adding sets here and there.  I *think* I am done for the day now.

I added:

10x30
10x30
10x30
2x50

...for an extra 1,000.  I hope I get confidence back in my knee so I can get back to running.  My shoulders are tired.

New March 25 Total - 2,200

New 2024 Total - 52,306

Edit again - I just realized I am 800 away from 3k.  That's only 30 sets of 27. Hmmmmm...

Edit Edit - I just added 16x27.  This is rough.  I am going to see about getting the last 14x27 sometime later tonight.

Edit Edit Edit - I added 8x27 prior to BJJ, got home, and added the final 6x27.

This is one convoluted post.

"Owed" is the keyword...owed to whom or what?

That's part of what I try to convey to my kids.  No matter the circumstances or hand your dealt, you owe it to God, your last name, and yourself to be better.  Even difficult things can be achieved based in mindset and how you break it down into manageable parts.

Good work!

Mind is focused on the murph. Did a lot of dumbell curls tonight...a few hundred. Did 100 squats in-between sets of pushups. Got in 715 pushups. Now at 32,025 YTD.

Just ordered my weighted vest....although I'm kinda toying with the idea of just running with my chest rig and 10 30-rnd mags

Need to run again this week. And hopefully the pull up rack is ready before the weekend.

Grind on brothers!

I heard Jocko say "I owe this" for his workouts that day.

I stuck with that mentality.

And macro is right---That is bondafide sigline material right there!

Aim for the target and keep shooting until the bullseye is a tattered hole

Which reminds me....I shoot in a monthly steel challenge match....this month is the first match of the year and I honestly haven't been to the range since last year. Over the weekend I hit the range twice to shake the dust off and practice a bit before this weeks match. All these pushups have strengthened my wrists a lot, and my endurance for shooting a pistol is way better. My aim, steadiness, and stamina are significantly improved. Had not expected that, and its a very welcome benefit. Never really thought the doing pushups would make me a better shot, but it appears it is.

I honestly have no words.  I struggle to even imagine 3000 reps in a 24 hour period. That is a seriously crazy day.  You already had my respect. Now I'm just speechless.

Thanks again for continuing to set the pace for us all.  I am thinking I need to just take a day and commit the whole thing to this. Hopefully on a weekend in the near future.

So....I got a thing....

Haven't gotten around to pushups tonight yet...will start that momentarily. Spent a few hours putting together the new rack. Finally discovered some pull ups and some dips. Felt really good to get some progress toward this. Really excited to start incorporating both of those exercises into my routine.

Tomorrow going to do a quick mile run and then go straight to the rack for pull ups.

For now...time to hit the floor.

ETA.....got in 510 for the day...thats 32810 YTD
Will shoot for 33k before the sun comes up.

It's humbling how hard dips and pull ups are right now for me. On one hand, I haven't trained those muscles in years...on the other, I'm 50 lbs heavier than the last time I was doing that kinda thing.

Hoping it's like pushups....just keep doing them and it gets easier

The good news is that I have zero excuses.  It's right in my garage....and I'm in there a dozen times a day. Every single time I go in there I am going to do pull-ups.

You'll adapt.

That's what I used to do at the station - every time I passed the pull up bar, I'd do 5.  It adds up.

So....I got another thing....

Well that certainly made the mile run harder

Tonight my first task was a mile run with 20 lbs on my chest....went a few minutes slower than normal, but honestly, not too bad at all. Better than I expected.

After that, did around 15 pullups...sets of 2-3, but realistically only the 1st rep of each set was a good one.

Did some air squats...not many...mostly just to see how they felt after running with the chest rig on.

Then did 650 pushups. (This is a push up thread )

Alarm is set for 04:45
Next task is to get at least 100 done before 05:00.

33,460 YTD

Got up 15 minutes ahead of my alarm today. Did 240 pushups in-between getting ready for work.

Time to hit the road. Will see what happens tonight. I am sooooooooor from last night

At the least I'll attempt some more pull ups tonight and will get in some pushups.

I did too, a couple nights go.  I was setting up phone numbers in the new car as a "delay" tactic.

Finally got them populated and decided I wasn't going to miss my mark out of a lack of discipline.

Last night I found my way to the gym, did a little workout, and came home to do what I had set in my mind to do this week.

And 3 days ahead of schedule, 15,000 was met.

Came home determined to do some pullups. Damn they are hard right now. Got in maybe a dozen, and I'm feeling it.

Time for bed.

Also, in true arfcom fashion, this thread is costing me money. I bought a pull up bar. Figured I needed to balance out all the push exercises with some pulling. Good new: I can still knock out a set of 12 legit pull ups.

1,400 last week

Forgot to update last week, and this week I was slacking until I caught up with 400 today that I just finished up.

Big life changes lately, I finally called it quits after almost a year of trying to work close to home, and took another engineering job at sea. So I’m back to being on a boat for a month at a time.

The bad news, is that the exercise equipment on the boat amounts to two adjustments dumbbells. The good news is I have plenty of spare time and no distractions. Hit leg day for the first time in months with the dumbbells yesterday and I’m feeling it today.

Push-up total:

400 today
700 week
11,600 ytd

At no point today did I work out.
I simply never made the time.
Today was about errands and tasks.
Had to do laundry, clean up a few rooms, do dishes, cook a few meals, run to the hardware store, organize a closet, move some things around in the work shop....and a bunch of other small crap not worth mentioning.

So I never made time for push ups today.
But.....what I did do is drop to the floor in between tasks and do random sets of pushups throughout the day.
I never made time for them...but I did get a few in here and there.
Didn't get to my usual numbers, but still managed to crank out 290 reps today....in the bedroom, in the laundry room, in the kitchen...in the garage. 34150 YTD

Also did a few pull ups every time I went out to the shop...got maybe a dozen good ones and few cheaters.

For a day that I never had a dedicated workout, I'm satisfied.

Looks like a busy week for all of us, a family road trip slowed me down for the week.  I was able to get in my 500 push ups and a 3 mile walk each day but haven't lifted since last Sunday.

Gotta get back on track tomorrow.
