Started my day with a little test to see how ready I am for the murph. No weight vest today...just wanted to get a baseline.  Ran a solid mile...didn't time it but based on experience probably around 7-8 minutes. Went straight to the rack and started doing pullups. Did a set of 10, then 8, then 7, and then a set of 5 every 90 seconds until I got to 55 pullups. Was satisfied that I could do what I did and feel like with 5-6 weeks to go getting to 100 pullups is very doable. Not sure about adding 20 lbs to my shoulders...will try that in a few weeks.

Did a bunch of squats and did a lot of bicep work with dumbells.

Now on to pushups. More on that later.

Weekly update: today is day two of taking three rest days in a row, hit the weights pretty hard this week, and finished up with 1,000 pushups in a day on Thursday. That felt pretty darn good, I think my previous high for a single day was 800.

Week total: 1,700
YTD: 14,700

I want to work on making progress towards the Murph, but being stuck on a boat, I have nowhere to do cardio at the moment. Push-ups, pull ups, and squats are coming along well though.

-Mountain Climber (4-count) x 2 minutes (58 total)

-1.5 mile run (12:40)

Just now - 10x30 Push-ups

Everything felt good and more than anything, my knee felt strong.

After my morning workout I was pretty wiped out today. After dinner I decided to do some more bicep work and pushups. I made it to 200 pushups and just had nothing left.

Had a quiet night and a few drinks. Couldn't sleep so....yep...you guessed it....got back after it. Realized I need another 315 pushups to get to 40k....so I did 350.

550 for today.

Four-digit day! Hell yeah!

Get a few of those under your belt and anything under 500 feels like a recovery day!

Hahaha.  If it wasn't obvious already, it should be now- you're addicted! Most normal people don't say, "I can't sleep. Let me do pushups."  They scroll their phones...

That honestly made me laugh out loud just now.

Today has truly been a recovery day. No serious exercise, lots of protein.  Later on I'll do some stretching and a couple hundred pushups just to keep the juices flowing, but no major milestones today. Maybe I'll take a walk with the vest...fully loaded its 35 lbs....perfect for walking uphill. Like I said, a day off for recovery.

This reminds me of last Saturday the 6th.

I was part of an IC team for a concert and started yawning in our command post.

I looked at my boss and said "time for my last 50 pushups of the week to reach 17,000."

He looked at the Chief and said "most people get coffee when they're tired.  M4ger does pushups."

Did 3-1/2 miles (walking) with 35 lbs on my shoulders. But that's it for today. Had planned to do some pushups...didn't. Today is a 0. First one of those since early January. Honestly, my body needs it tonight.  Going to heal for about 9 more hours and then back to it.

Was reviewing my numbers this morning. I've fallen off a lot from last month. In March I did 13,665 pushups. In order for me to at least match that in April I need to do at least 450 every day until the end of the month.

I got some work to do.
Tonight has been all about pushups.
No other exercises.
Just pushups

To be continued

Today was about making up for all those days I could have done more but didn't.

Today was about making sure my April numbers are better than my March numbers.

Todays workout has been about pushups...solely.

Today isn't over yet...

Great to see you guys crushing it every day, truly inspiring.

I've been crazy with work and have not had a lot of free time this week.  I've been able to get in my daily 500 push ups and the 3 miles but everything else has been less than optimal.  Still trying to get in shape for the Murph, I'm good to go except the pull ups, still have some work to do to get to the required 10x10 in the best.

I should be able to get back on track this weekend.

Keep Grinding

Tonight I did pushups.
I did a set every 5 minutes.

49 sets. (Counting the 3 I did this morning, 52 for the day, a new personal best)

Set another new personal best, completing 2,185 pushups today. That is 4260 and cou ting so far this week (yet another personal best)

3 new personal bests today.
44,295 YTD.

Time for bed...scared to see what kind of shape I'll be in tomorrow morning.

The first several sets were between 50-80, them a lot of sets of 50, finishing the night out with sets of 35 or 40. The last 10 sets were hard....and this morning I was pretty damn sore.

Still haven't done any pushups yet today. Need to get my act together.

Did a 5 mile walk at noon today with 35 lbs in my chest rig....that pretty much kicked what little ass I had left.

Will try to get some reps in before the end of the night.
