Damn, I haven't though of Gary Numan in forever. I was only 11 in '79 but my older sister exposed me to a wide variety of different music genres that ranged from Judas Priest to:

Devo - Jocko Homo (In The Beginning Was The End: The Truth About De-Evolution. 1976)

If you hate yourself and want to play a hard game, one of the songs I posted in this thread actually samples jocko homo by devo.

Can you tell me which one?

Beat me to it. When I think 80's and synth, Yaz always comes to mind for me.

I think almost this whole track (spare for the sax solo and overdubbed guitar line) was essentially synths and and a Roland drum machine.

Man I love some $uicideboy$, glad to see they showed up.

But as far as that song goes, this is what they sampled.

Kind of funny because I have seen both $uicideboy$ and Deadmau5 in concert within the last year.

Marconi Union.

Usually, I listen to this as background music while working in the garage shop on Sundays.

KKUP in Cupertino, CA does an electronic music show on Sunday mornings starting around 08:00or 09:00am. I listen online.

Neptune Currents. I love it as background vibes.
