I want to make an engineering/machinist drawing for some 2 arm lift accessories I want a local welding shop to make for me.

Any simple apps out there?  I used to use Canvas, but that's been dead for over a decade now.  I liked it because you could draw line, id it an denote it at 2" for example.  Draw another line, set it to 5" and so on.  It was easy to use.

Thanks for the help!

Openscad is not very intuitive.  But I did find LibreCad and was able to follow along a YT video.  Eventually I was able to make this.  Ran into a stumbling block on emplacing text though.  I also haven't found a way to translate it into .pdf either.

I haven't used that program but I've seen similar issues with other CAD programs. Check the font size on the text to make sure it fits in the size text block you are using, both of those need to be in agreement with each other.
