They are also hurling personal insults at anybody who promotes the Republican candidate. It really makes me question their morals & mental health.

Ultimately, I am happy for EVERYONE that Trump is returning to office because we’ll all be better off. Some of us realize this, some don’t.

So far out of my six mentions asking a legitimate question of whom I should vote for, even if it means writing in a candidate, I have only got two responses. Those two responses were that they can't tell me a single candidate to vote for.

Sadly, my political party, the Constitutional Party doesn't even seem to be fielding a candidate this year that I am aware of.

I don't think any of my principles are up for grabs in elections.

You're suppose to just vote and hope for the best. If you have time, volunteer. If you can afford it, donate.  If you think you can make a difference, make a run for it yourself. No one is falling on a sword by casting a ballot.

To be fair every time Trump has been on the ballot the GOP has gained seats in the House that election, offset of course by dumb picks for Senate seats and relative underperformance there.

As for the question posed by OP, I voted for him in 2016 because he was willing to really advocate for the issues I felt were being disregarded by the legacy GOP: namely immigration, trade, and war. Had this country been what I thought it was at the time, I think he would have overall turned out to be a good president. Unfortunately the opposition turned out to be far more ruthless and organized than most expected, and Trump simply turned out to not have what it took in the end.

I don't think his chances in 2024 are all that bad, I think he even has fairly decent odds of getting elected. Unfortunately I think 2020 broke something in him, and the current MAGA right is incredibly unserious and thinks the election is in the bag. Even if they don't fumble it somehow, I think Trump crumbles in office and it's four years of him getting rolled like 2020 because he just doesn't have what it takes.

I'm sort of checked out at this point, I'll likely vote for him solely for the chance to get my friends out of prison but I don't expect anything from him and am already looking past him and figuring out the next moves. He's a placeholder at best, really not worth getting too invested in the outcome of any potential 2nd Trump term. Biden out of office may ameliorate things a little, but Trump still gets steamrolled by the administrative state and they'll get 75% of what they wanted under Biden anyway, if we're lucky.

Unlike a lot of people on here, I have a demanding job that requires me to be available 24 hours a day for, on average, 24-25 days a month. That prevents me from being able to immediately respond to your questions. If you really need an enhanced level of guidance, I’ll give you my cell phone number. That being said, it’s hard to talk or text when I’m scrubbed in or with patients.

I forget who it was, but someone else already had a pretty good response to your question and why we shouldn’t be “telling” you who you should vote for.

That being said, I’m voting for Biden and I hope you do, too. I voted for Trump in 2016 because I actually bought into his bullshit and believed he wanted to “drain the swamp”. Instead, he hired his own swamp who was loyal to him above all us, including me and you. Those who started to waver in their loyalty, he fired and hired someone even more rabidly loyal. Just look at the frequency of turnover within his cabinet and administration. Numerous people within his administration ended up being convicted of serious crimes and going to prison, many of whom were pardoned by Trump as long as they remained loyal. That, my friend, is corruption.

He completely botched the Covid response. Then enriched the CEO’s of 3 major Big Pharma companies by basically giving them a blank check to develop vaccines, and then continued to pay for the dosages. These companies had the vast majority of their R&D paid for by your and my taxes. The overhead was minimal. And he still directed the government to pay for the administration of the dosages. And now that the vaccines aren’t covered, they’re some of the most expensive vaccines on the market.

He lowered taxes by a whopping 2% on average. That’s great. He also increased our standard deductions. That helps. But the tax cuts are temporary for us. Now, for corporate taxes (you know, like for Big Tech and Big Pharma) those taxes cuts were written as permanent. He did this and looked us straight in the eye and said “this will allow companies to give people raises and invest in capital”. Instead, the CEO’s used their massive tax breaks to give themselves raises and pay shareholders dividends. We peasants never saw a penny of those corporate tax cuts. It’s almost like “trickle down economics” don’t actually trickle down. And on top of all that, it has been shown that those tax cuts have helped to increase our deficit and debt and will continue to do so.

He repeatedly refused to invest in infrastructure.

He passed more gun laws than Biden has. Seriously, look it up. For all of Biden’s rhetoric, he hasn’t done shit. In fact, the ATF is functioning more efficiently than it ever has with stamp approval times. It’s almost as if giving organizations the funding they need helps them to function better…

He gave out TRILLIONS in handouts during Covid.

He straight up told a mob of rabid loyalists to go down to the Capitol and “fight like hell” to prevent the peaceful transfer of power to Biden. This was after he lost over 60 cases in court trying to show there was election fraud. This was after the “Cyber Ninjas” were unable to show any fraud in the Arizona election. This was after he lied BEFORE the election even took place by trying to say “the only way Biden wins is if he cheated”. And it’s really mind boggling that people actually believe it considering he got FEWER overall votes than HILLARY. FUCKING. CLINTON. I want you to say that out loud. He lost the popular vote to one of the most hated, corrupt, career politicians ever.  And he never said anything about fraud with her. But he loses to a guy that was generally well liked, albeit a little creepy around the kids, but generally well liked by people on both sides of the aisle for DECADES. And suddenly there’s fraud. Give me a break.

I actually liked his tough-on-immigration stance. I didn’t like the way it was executed (separating children from parents), but I do appreciate the lower rates of illegal immigration during his term (although they weren’t as low as he tried to tout).

His tariffs were awful. He flaunted it as if foreign companies were going to eat all that cost, when in reality we saw the price of imports rise to cover that cost.

He sold information to Putin about our spies, who were then killed. That’s treason. Why would you ever elect a president that did that?

Those are just a few reasons, based on actions alone (I’m not going to harp on personalities/lack of morals/etc).

Whereas, Biden has not pushed any new gun laws through.

He has invested heavily in infrastructure. Yes, these things are expensive, but I’d rather see my taxes going to support things like infrastructure, where everyone in the nation can benefit from it, rather that subsidies to oil and coal, where only C-suites and shareholders benefit.

He gave handouts during Covid, but not nearly as much as Trump.

He’s invested heavily in bringing computer chip manufacturing here to the states, which is HUGE for us as a nation.

He’s signed laws that incentivize keeping manufacturing here in the states.

He has treated every single American with respect. Trump tried to withhold Covid assistance from Democrat cities and states. I don’t care what your political views are. People are people. And if they’re struggling, they deserve the help of our federal government. You don’t get to pick and choose who you’re helping. We’re all Americans and we deserve to be treated as such. Yes, I know people on both sides try to dehumanize and demonize the other side to some extent, but Trump has taken it to a whole new level and his sycophants have followed in his footsteps. I frequently see people on this forum stating that all liberals should be shot/killed/murdered. That’s ridiculous. I don’t really consider myself a Democrat because I’ve never voted for them until after Trump’s first term, but my wife and her family are definitely Democrats, and to be frank, it’s hard not to take it a literal personal when I read someone essentially stating they hope my wife and her family are murdered. Same for my mom and sister. I think people forget that a lot of people who are Democrats or vote Democrat are not “communists” or “socialists”, they have families, and are generally good people who want things to be just a little bit different than what most Republicans want. I can tell you that my wife and her parents have frequently said they wish Biden would be tougher on immigration. They don’t want to go back to families being separated, but they damn sure don’t want an open border, and I’d say 90-95% of the Democrats I know feel the same way. Yes, the other 5-10% tend to be more extreme on a lot of issues, but it’s the same way for Republicans. So basically 80-90% of the country is pretty close in values and wants, but Trump has created a Republican Party so extreme that my wife and I are considered “vermin” who don’t even deserve to live. We should be shot and leave our kids to be orphaned, apparently. Biden doesn’t treat his opponents like this. When the hurricane hit Florida he personally went down there, shook Desantis’s hand, and promised him help. That’s what a leader does. He puts personal differences aside to help others and bring us together as Americans.

So, yes, I would recommend Biden. Is he going to make things perfect? Absolutely not. Is he the best choice possible? No. But he’s the best choice we have right now, and 1000x better than Trump. That being said, if you (or anyone, I’m using you as a collective) tell me to fuck off and I’m an idiot and my wife should be shot for being a vermin commie and you’re voting for Trump, that’s your right and I’m not going to call you names. But I might gloat a little when, contrary to everyone’s belief, America isn’t burned to ashes after 4 years of Biden wins.

Define unified. Do I like the guy? No. Do I really want him as POTUS? No. Do I want the other guy as POTUS? Even more of a no. Do I wish there were other options? Hell fucking yes. Will I vote for Trump? Most likely yes. Does that mean I consider myself “unified with him”? Hell fucking no.
