Hello,

I am posting this on behalf of a friend in the Houston area.

He and his wife found a stray 18-month old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix (based on DNA tests).  Her adopted name is Belle.

Please see below for a summary/notes from my friend, along with several pictures of Belle.  Any assistance in finding this dog a home would be terrific!

Please note the increase in the weight/overall healthiness of the dog over time; my friends really are caring for her well.

Interested parties, please reach out to [email protected], or IM me here.

Thank you for your support!

Hello!

My wife and I have been fostering a Belgian for the past couple months after she showed up at our doorstep. Her name is now Belle, and while she is a fantastic dog and we wish we could keep her around, it would likely not work out with our current older dog.

We’ve been training her, both independently and professionally, and have gotten her up to date on shots and vaccinations, and hope to have her spayed soon. She is exceptionally smart and eager to please, but at around 18 months old (estimated by the vet), there is still work to be done.

I’m hoping you might be able to help us find a forever home for her, and we’d probably be willing to travel a bit in order to do so. I’ve attached a few pictures of her, and can provide any other info you might need.  Belle was also spayed last week (as of 2/26/24).

Thank you, and I’m looking forward to hearing back!

Oh, what a beautiful girl.

I live in an apartment,  so I'm out.

But someone here needs to adopt her.

Consider this a bump for her forever home.

Great dog, but it needs a large yard and is a high drive dog.

We had a GSD with the same color pattern as this Bella.  Had to put him down last year.  Best dog I ever had.  By far.  I want to get a dog so bad.   Gotta be good around kids/babies though.

I'm just outside of Dallas (barely) and willing to give this dog a home. I'll be emailing the previously mentioned email. Are there any stipulations I should know about beforehand?

Less now.

One of the things I am REALLY looking forward to after I retire is getting another dog.

I know people with dogs.

I was one of those for 95% of my life, being single and having to possibly be on the job for 16+ hours a day isn't conducive to treating a dog right or making sure it's well adjusted and normal. I refuse to do that to a dog just to satisfy my wants.

Yeah, but you're close to retirement, right?

My last dog was a female cat cur, first time I have had that breed, she was a FANTASTIC laid back dog that wasn't neurotic [especially if left for the day]  like so many breeds are and was the perfect mix of ''don't F with my family'' and chill with people and other dogs. I was a bit worried when my shep/mal passed about how she would take it and be but after a bit, she decided being an ''only dog'' was pretty good as she got ALL the goodies, treats, and attention.

And yes, she was a rescue.

Thank you @Mbsk01 for reaching out to my friend.  I understand you guys may be working something out to meet up and pass Belle along.  Will update the thread as I confirm.

Appreciate everyone’s help!

Dag has been acquired.

Not good with cats. Hoping that changes over time.

We have had her about a week now. She seems happy and doing well.
