I want to learn to play piano. It would be better if I had a smaller keyboard that can easily travel with me. Probably wouldn't take pedals, though later expansion could be nice.

I thought about this at the music shop the other day. I just noodled around on a small and relatively cheap keyboard, but the key response was pretty crappy (might have been my angle while standing, I'll try sitting at it next time.). I've looked at larger keyboards in the past and I know that "realistic" key response starts to get expensive.

Anyone have experience with keyboards? Advice on brands/models?
