What our young adults and families want- at least the traditional ones with drive and potential-
Is the same America precious generations benefitted in.

They simply want the same proportional cost of education , housing, etc. that we had.
They want the same meritocratic hiring opportunities we had.
They especially want Boomers to recognize the changes.  Not brag how they paid the equivalent of 70K for a home in 1980 that they just sold for 700K, then in another thread deny the proportional increased cost of housing.
And they really, really want them to STFU about their “experiences and insights” that don’t apply.
Again, boomers will say in one post how easy it was to work on their car in 1977, and what a mess new ones are-
Then mock some kid that paid 870 dollars for a new starter and alternator in their 12 year old Acura.

Yeah, we could, with a basic tool set the size of a lunch box, pop a hood, replace a $20 alternator, hop under the car, replace a 20$ starter, and be done in less than an hour.  Not have to buy a bunch of weird extensions and spend four hours in narrow cracks to replace a part that costs 300 dollars.  Or buy a new headlight for $8.70 and change it in ten minutes.  Not need a 240 dollar assembly and six hours of removing trim, etc.  They simply want us to understand that difference.

They want what we had.

Today's ''generations'' have a hard time figuring out how to open the hood, much less actually changing parts like alternators, lights and starters.

Frankly, I give you the ''boomers need to understand the world has changed'' if you give boomers ''modern generations have no clue how to do what boomers did as a matter of course daily.''

And yes, some percentage of people still work on their own vehicles and so on but it's not even close to what it once was. Now part of it is that one doesn't HAVE to work on their vehicle multiple times a year so they never gain any mechanical skills but the other part of it is that people don't want to in the first place.

And some of the cool tool shit that is out there to make work easier today would have made boomers pass out from high blood pressure they would have been so excited. Diagnostic computers held in your hand? Damn. Battery powered tools that make taking stuff apart a cinch, lights that could blind the size of a middle finger, and so on.

Not sure is satire or full on boomer..

WELL I tells You these days you betcha them thar kids A FixIN a CAR why you Shoulda SeeN …

Nobody gives two fucks how bright a mini maglite sized light is now compared to ‘87 when you paid the equivalent of 600 bucks rent or 87K for a house in today’s dollars  when the exact same apartment is now 1800 a month and the exact same house is now 750K.

A shitload of cars don’t even come with a spare now, some vehicles need a special unique too, to remove the oil filter, and as I mentioned various parts and procedures are a fiasco compared to what we did.  I watched people plug in timing lights, power drills, air impact tools and shit in like 1970.  Having a battery vs plugging something in never made anyone pass out with excitement.  And an OBD port when some center dash computer display/control module is frozen is about as useful as a boomer dick without viagra.

People know exactly the trials of the boomer.  You went to the library or bought encyclopedias instead of using the internet.  Beast the duck out of insurance, copay, etc. costs compared to what you had.

You PaiD LonG DisTanCE fEEs for A PhONe call!
That’s nice.  You also proportionallynpaid 1/4 for your college.

Sure.  And the boomers just want them to stop whining, stop spending their money on stupid crap, and make it happen like they did.

Bruh, the pain is real. OEM headlamp assemblies are $200+/each for my older 4X4 Silvy -- when they're freaking available online. That doesn't include bulbs or those retarded plastic safety screws that ALWAYS break when being removed. I told my old man the price of the less expensive Taiwan replacements. He incredulously no-shit replied, "Is that the factory price?"

Boomers have no idea
