Brightline trains seem to hit a lot of people/cars in this state.

I'm guessing years behind schedule and several billion over budget and no one held accountable.
Years later the audit will reveal missing money and payoffs to corrupt officials. |

Nevadans should be fighting this. They’ll be destroyed.

I don't know nothin'. I just post here.

What a deal at only $8,294 per FOOT as an estimate.

|
Now Las Vegas and NV can be Californicated at an even higher rate by people too poor to fly or drive.

|
Isn't this the one where Feinstein's husband "coincidentally" owned a whole lot of land on that route? Or was that a different California high speed rail boondoggle?

Brightline here is actually a nice way to get to Orlando (and beyond eventually.)
It's not Amtrak, too expensive for the poors, worth it if you don't want to deal with I-95 or FL Turnpike headaches, and gets from Miami>Orlando in something like 3 hours, about an hour less than driving in light traffic. Problem is they're still wayyy in the red. Lots of it was from build-out costs and debt servicing of that, but they're still not making money on ridership. Well, at least they're not running to the gov for a bailout (yet.) Now all those good things about FL Brightline, I'm sure CA will find a way to f it up. Insisting on all kinds of government |

$12 billion?????? Damn, the Union Pacific line was built for $109 million back in the day, adjusted to current dollars, that would only be $2.5 billion.

Brightline will deliver their 218 mile project from concept to completion far before the state of California finishes their 119 mile project that’s been in the works for 15 years.
The private model is how high speed rail should be built in the US. Private companies actually build where there’s a legitimate business case that justifies the upfront capital expenditure, whereas the government just throws money at the issue with no consideration of fare box recovery or efficiency & the service ends up being subsidized by taxpayers in perpetuity (see Amtrak). |

I'll probably use it when the Martin county station opens. I just wish DeSantis would strong arm them into allowing guns, even if they had similar rules to TSA. |

Another way to divert taxpayer dollars to crony's.
Why is it that these projects are always projected to make tons of money but always end up losing billions? |

But if the trip Actually takes 2 hours and 10 minutes then total travel time won't be far off of flying when you include the airport fuckery. |
