How about just buy the service or quit crying!

I hate air travel, I avoid it like the plague, and I am by no means rich, but if I was a frequent flyer I would subscribe to that service in a heartbeat, someone's else equity or perceived dignity be damned.

California could ban Clear, which lets travelers pay to skip TSA lines

"It's a basic equity issue when you see people subscribed to a concierge service being escorted in front of people who have waited a long time to get to the front of TSA line," Newman told CBS MoneyWatch. "Everyone is beaten down by the travel experience, and if Clear escorts a customer in front of you and tells TSA, 'Sorry, I have someone better,' it's really frustrating."

Next they are going to ban Pre, they are ina shorter line as well.  The real rich are flying private and don’t wait in lines anyway.

Let’s hit the real cause, not everyone can pass a background check, if the poors flew enough they could divert funds.

Surprised that Ca isn’t banning first class, how come those people get to board early, sit up front in large seats and get free drinks?

I don't get it. If you can afford to travel enough that you would care about a service like this, you could afford it. If it's a whole bunch of whiny non-English speaking occasional travelers that can't understand what pre-check or clear lines are they should be told to fuck themselves.

It's on an airport by airport basis.  In Tulsa, CLEAR would actually add time to getting through security.  I could see that with MCO as well.

That said, when I was flying out of SFO, Denver, ATL, ORD, etc CLEAR took 30 minutes or more off getting through security.  I'd get walked right to the very front of the Pre line which was often backed up as well.  It's well worth it if you frequent a high traffic airport with screwed up security lines.

Scan my face and keep walking.
Let them in front of the general security line. I bet the rubes over there would love that.

Also I’m finding some airports are having TSA staffing issues and several times the Pre-check lines have been closed so having CLEAR would have been helpful.

I suppose it really is airport dependent. I got CLEAR for free and I probably only used it twice in the last 50 flights. Even at DEN enough people have it now that it’s not faster than TSA Pre a lot of the time. I’ve never used it for SFO.

I’m all for bashing TSA and the patriot act but it happened to Adam Curry. He travelled internationally often with his show equipment and gave reports about his experience. He was pissed. The petty little tyrant types loved to try and embarrass him thinking the microphone was a vibrator. That job appeals to the worst among us.

Can’t remember which airport. Maybe Austin.

A lot of the time the precheck line took significantly longer. It was a running thing for weeks.

TSA? Airport terminal?  That's all poor people shit.

Civilized people are shuttled in a nice comfy private vehicle to the FBO, where they can usually just step on board that G650. But on the off chance that they have to wait a bit, they sit in a nice comfy lounge and eat catered food and drink expensive stuff.

We have a winner.  I saw a lot of the world on .mil.

I study routing to avoid interstates now as well.  Use larger state highways.  Usually adds about 2-3 hours to my trips.  But on average I get behind a pileup on the interstate about every third trip and those cost me about 2 hours average.  And the pot holes are getting worse, not better.  So I see more of America on state roads and might not get killed by a zombie driving with her knees watching Tik Tok on I-40.
