Just got my FOIA back from Crane regarding my field grade CMP 1911A1.

It was on the USS America.  The UIC was 3366, but I have no idea what SST D stands for.  Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

The UIC is actually all 5 digits, including the zero.  Unit ID Code (as opposed to TRUIC or UMUIC).

Can't help with SST D.  Special Security Team?  They probably carried nukes so I'd guess they had some sort of security assigned.  Total SWAG on my part.

Special Support Team.  Likely NSA.  A detachment, which explains the D.

That's awesome.  I have a few friends who were on the America.  The ship I was on rode shotgun for the America during the '91 and '93 deployments.
