I know that searches have really started to suck since Jan 1st, not just on topics related to this particular sub-forum. The Reverse image search to find names of celebrities and internet media personalities and they are no longer identified.
It used to give you the name of anybody you had a photo of, and you could find duplicate photos of some image you took. Now you can't find matching images, it always gives you new "similar to" or say 'Sorry can't find it" and that is more and more with text searches wanting to be some stupid AI interactive bot steering me toward what it wants me to see when I know what I want to see, they're just obfuscating it to show how helpful they can be.
I want SearX or other crowd sourced search system to actually take off where content is crowd sourced, like a torrent, but an index of the entire internet is saved on multiple volunteer systems and some bitcoin or other reward could be given for running one of the nodes. Sort of like how Napster worked but with internet searches for keyword results and image match results. I don't know how to incentivize it since I'm not having a few spare billion around to kick it off and do an end run around google/bing searches, but it would be nice to go back to search circa 2014 which worked perfectly, all updates since then have removed functionality and increased manipulation by changing perceptions.
