Crew arrested burglarizing a freight train in the Cajon Pass

San Bernardino County deputies arrested multiple people for trying to steal from a freight train at the Cajon Pass in what resembled a scene from an old western movie.

"Just like the wild west."  Not really, back then if there was a problem they had a solution.

It's surprising California LE is actually doing something about it.  But then, they haven't been prosecuted yet.  Can they prove the thieves were after something that cost more than $900?  Isn't that the cutoff for charges?

Then they would check out the hook, while the DJ revolved it.

Would be awesome if one of the robbers was named Bobby.  Bonus points if he looks like a potato!

Railroads have their own police departments with full arrest authority. I’m sure they were in on the bust with SBSO.

I'd imagine UP has it's own people . . . when a Norfolk Southern train blocked a town nearby for half a day, they had cops and guys in NS trucks threatening to arrest people if they crossed the train on foot at all. Couple of businesses shut down that day as the only access to their shopping center was across the tracks.
