Nice job Soco! Keep hammering. Are these a mass start single lap XC format? What are you riding? (For a bike?)

Looks nice. I'm starting to miss dirt.

Nabbed another 10 yesterday morning while the temps were below freezing. Just went through another rain /thaw/refreeze cycle, so everything was glazed with ice, but still punchy on the sides. Sketchy but fun

man, waiting for that freeze/thaw cycle to end must be hell. this is the time of the year where it just keeps getting worse and worse, turned into mud and ice chunks till its gone.

I've just signed up for a 41 mile gravel race in May.

no I don't have a gravel bike... I'm inbetween taking the hard tail fatty or my Evil.

the Evil is lighter, has xc (down cuntry) tires on it, rolls well and goes fast, I've done several XC races on the Evil. the fatty is just a bit less jaring on longer rides...

its a matter of speed vs. comfort. I have no chance nor do I care to win, the race is just held on a very exclusive private ranch that belongs to Ted Turner and its basically the only way to get access.

FWIW, I know a number of people who are going to ride it on fatbikes. they take fatbikes to every gravel race

41 mile gravel race would be kinda boss on a fatbike. Seems like theres always a faction of them at any race. IIRC there were a couple CX races that started having fb divisions when FBs first got popular. Maybe that junkyard one in PA? Or Im confused.

Either way though, do it!  I know just registering for an event always gets me anxious and motivated.

Is it in NM?

Got out for some DH laps with my kid on Sunday. Lots of ungroomed spring conditions, really fun.

Nice, that's impressive I'd be psyched to pull stuff like that off. Crit races and hill climbs are my kind of road races.

Solid ride.

I've been busy AF lately, haven't been posting much. Getting a lot if xc/bc skiing in, and some road rides here and there. Weather is weird lately.

I'll post a better update this weekend, gotta get some lift serve in now.

Some DH laps last Monday, groomers were frozen and running way fast in the morning, then everything turned to mashed potatoes once things warmed up, then firmed back up during the eclipse. Fun day.

Mt. Washington and Tuckerman Ravine from Wildcat, during the totality

Then snuck out for a 10 mile recon ride this morning.... Ended up doing trail work, clearing tons of blowdown. Still pockets of snow around and a bunch left up higher, wet and muddy as hell

Probably a couple weeks before there's any real trail riding.

35#? Shit, I haven't had an FS rig under 37# since I got into Enduro/DH. My Spesh was  35.5ish when I first got it, now with 2.6 tires, and the Zeb, she's at 37+... Sucks, but I like it when I point it downhill.
Awesome pics btw!!!!

Tons of blow down this year, so it's a lot of off the bike, on the bike, clearing trails as I go right now. A smarter, more disciplined man would be putting in distance work on the road, but I'm jonesing to ride dirt.

I need to ride some more steepness.. steep is my biggest weakness. I got my ass kicked in Spain, i could not believe how steep it was.

Yeah, I'm all signed up and set up for the race, still undecided which bike to take.

LOL, unfortunately not. Funny though because I've been eyeballing a "Middlechild" on eBay lately to replace my old GT Pantera that is my "neglected step child" rigid bike. I always liked RSDs stuff.

Think I'm going to live with what I have for another season and buy a Ruger PCC Mlok instead...

Ah, it sounded like one of RSD's bikes.

It turns out they don't even make a stepchild though i could swear they did.

My buddy has a single speed middlechild, looks like a fun bike.

4 mile XC climb to a hike a bike up to a saddle for a blow down laden descent. Not the PR-athon I was fantasizing about, but cooked off some calories.
