My grandfather tells me that when my mother and her siblings were born, he went down to the bar and waited for the phone call.
He didn't even need to tell them which bar... They just looked at the name tag, saw an Irish name and knew which bar to call. |

Congrats, but I don’t miss those days.
This type of thing was never my thing. Felt like the awkward third wheel in that room once the shit’s in full swing. I stood by my wife’s head at the end of the bed and tried to stay out of everyone’s way and not become a burden. |

It's a way for them to get your scent as well and be comfortable with you. Not that they wouldn't otherwise. His mother and I are now divorced and guess who he prefers to be with. Not that it's because I took my shirt off I'm sure it has something to do with the fishing and frog hunting but I didn't want to miss any chance to bond with him as my father was quite aloof when I was born.
