I am surprised that my dandelion crop isn't coming in as strong as it has in the past.

ETA - it is not unheard of that the hayfield next to us looks better than our yard.

I sprayed the whole thing with glyphosate at the end of February. Still needs some touch up, but it kicked the shit out of 90% of the weeds and the bermuda came out of dormancy.

Nice lawn. How do you keep the hippies out of it?

I keep the broadleafs and weeds knocked down on my quarter acre. The trees surrounding the place mean I only have to mow every two or three weeks, but in fall there is hell to pay with the ton of leaves they drop.

I do, but no pic, it has been raining all week and will rain again today. haven't had the chance to mow/groom the lawn. And it looks pretty hairy right now

Nice yard.

Tried to post pics of close-up Martian surface.

No pics, but our yard is proof Mars can be terraformed.  Parts of our yard looked exactly like Mars when we bought.  Zero weeds.  None.  The nice, fresh, sod, died. The 'vast' pine island hid a miniature rocky mountain.  NW Ga. suburb.  If YT had been a thing back then, I'd have debunked the first rovers.  We've added sand over the years and got the surviving bermuda to grow.  Least little dry spell, though....

I mow 5-6 acres with a 61" Scag and shred another 20 with a 6' shredder and 35-horse tractor for trails, the rest is left nature-friendly or cattle grazing

This is me. My goal is to not have the worst lawn on the block.

I learned long ago that when you live next to a working farm it takes an enormous amount of effort to have a nice lawn. I have neither the time nor the inclination to do so.

So crabgrass, dandelions, clovers and weeds it is.

Here's a smidgen of the 1.5 rural acres I maintain.

More people need to embrace Bermuda. The Richards are freaking out because their irrigation inlets are starting to suck air, and float up in the ponds around the golf course.
Another week or 2 without significant rain, and their St Augustine is gonna be fucked.

Just bought a used 54" zero turn.

It's not manicured,  just passable.

Pull those damned dandelions before doing so...

FPNI

I just mow it about every other week when it starts to look too crappy and I'll trim bushes/hedges way back once a year when they start to invade the walkways or window-views.   I got too much bettter/fun shit to do than to devote hundreds of hours a year to something that'll look feral in a month or two if I decided to neglect it.  Talk about waste of time.

My lawn in 80% weeds and the yard guy says just keep it green and short.  Works for me.  Neighbor across the street put down new sod last year and it already looks like shit.

Not best angle or lighting to showcase it. Also front yard is better.

Yes I do.
But it doesn't take much maintenance...
Grass isn't really indigenous where I live - thank God!!!...

Taken today. Best it’s looked since I moved here in 2017. Finally found a pest control company worth a damn and got the irrigation working decent (for now…). It’s not perfect but it will do. Looks better than everyone else on the street right now. I do the mowing on a Cub Cadet rider.

Landlord contracts out the front yard, we mow the fenced in backyard. I'm not putting in any money or effort to make it pretty.

I've got 2 acres and I hate mowing the lawn and improved pasture. This year so far I have gone natural,  as soon as one blade cuts, it will be a bi-weekly bitch. I just saw no less than 10 wooley cats in my yard on the way in the house. I'd rather they eat it than me cut it, and I might get a few pretty butterflies/moths out of the deal.

No lawn for me.
It's waste of water, money and time.
