Bought the frame and the fork back in 1983 January 1984 via mail order.  Spent the next couple of years saving money and buying parts.  Been boxed up in storage for the past 30-years.  Will assembly it tomorrow and hit the skate park.  I did have to buy NOS grips and tires  as the old ones melted away.

No Haro?

I can't remember what happened to my old Redline

Holy crap !! That is freakin' awesome !!!

I just had a memory blast to 1983.

Go find a Haro number plate for the handlebars, and you are pretty much done.

Bottema forks would be the only upgrade I would do.

I don't have the collection that I'm sure some here do, but I will try to post some pics of a couple of mine when I get a chance. And no, unfortunately I don't have my TA from back in the day but I do have some cool stuff. Also not trying to get in trouble but most of what I got needs to go. I need room in the garage for the 71 Rally Sport

Can't wait to see that thing assembled.
My old 1988 HARO Team Master is somewhere in my parents' storage. One day I'm going to get it out and restore it.

I was hoping this was going to be a thread on BMX, delivered.

I dont get the Haro love. I would have taken a Redline or Kuwahara any day of the week over any Haro.

I had a custom Supergoose nearly identical to the Skyway with the mag wheels and chrome frame etc. It was tuff and I loved it, nobody could afford the fancier stuff were we lived in the 70s.  Skyway did a limited edition run recently, I was envious.

Those were the days.

Almost done.  Spent several hours servicing the bearings.  Only have the chain left to service and install, everything else is assembled.   The brake pads are quite brittle so I will need to get some replacements.   It rained all day today so no skate park, went to see Dune Part 2 instead.  Should have a picture of the completed bike tomorrow.

It was the November 1983 BMX Plus! issue advertisement that inspired me to buy the frame and fork.  I kept the original issue here it is:

This takes me back.

I had a green Haro Master I built from the ground up piece by piece just like this.

It was green, one of the last years before the left the fork and rear drop outs chrome.  Had 401 Flight Cranks, Redline forklifts, GT laid back seat post.

Before that I had a Redline 500a. White and black.

Man, this takes me back.

Hit the skate park.  Conclusion, old men shouldn't be on a BMX bike.  I left before I tried dropping in on a bowl.  Probably for the best.

That is a nice bike.  I like the SE Landing Gear forks.  41-years ago I was deciding between the PK Ripper and the Skyway T/A.  I should've got both back then.

Yup I tried a twenty inch but that was wishful thinking. 24 inch I got is about at the limit. It is going to be my mail getter.

Curious what OP weighs.  You trust the 40 year "mags" ie, plastic wheels?

90's BMX kid here.  Redline, and GT were some of big names when I was kid.  I don't recall every hearing about Skyway.

Awesome bike!

In 1982, 12yr old me jumped a driveway curb-ramp and clipped the curb on my way down, cracking the back rim on my Skyway Tuff IIs.

A week later someone went into our back yard and stripped my bike during the night. (It was a Schwinn scrambler, chromed cro-mo)

Home-owners insurance bought me all new parts. Including a new set of Tuff II mags.
