I've got a number of devices on my home network that I'd like to monitor. Most of them for just a simple ping. Some for HTTP response.

I get that this isn't a normal home network thing, but I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a light weight system that would do this. Docker or VM based would work

A simple shell script could do that easily.

Uptime Kuma has worked for me in the past.

With monitoring do you want reporting, logs, GUI or is CLI ok?

CLI you can just loop pings and redirects to a time stamp of downtime to a file, the same is similar for for HTTP response, but you would need to use something like wget and check the echo of the error level for success or failure.

Sure thing. If you use home assistant, it has a native plug in.
