I've always wanted a G36C just for the videogame nostalgia.

G36 and L85 I played in the game combat arms in the early 2000s. If there is the opportunity in my lifetime I will buy both.

I like mine...

In fact, I am surprised how accurate it is, but it's also a super-light gun.  In this pic, it has the newer handguard on it, but when I put the older style handguard on it, it's *really* light.

I'm sure if HK made those in the US and put them up for $1800 they'd be popular for the collector crowd. Knowing it is HK, they would probably price it $2,500 or more though.

Two terrible guns in real life and I despise shooting them

Hope you ain't a lefty, that L85 charging handle will bite ya and hard.

No argument with the model for the rifle in question.

A friend of mine had whatever FFL/SOT required for dealer samples, and I got trigger time on his G36 with the happy switch.  I was impressed with how smooth it was.  It was a far cry from an AC-556 for sure!

I enjoy shooting the G36 and would like to try an L85 as well.
Even with an optic it's lightweight.

SIG 551 is much more interesting. If I could magically have one, it would be the SIG.

The SIG is much easier to get than a proper German made civ market G36

Yeah, between those two, I'd definitely pick the SG 551. It's heavier, but so much nicer to fire.

Overpriced until they were on clearance for $800. 10” and 14.5” barrels weren’t anywhere near as available as they should’ve been. And the charging handle needed the extension, but they were always backordered.

Beretta fucked up what could’ve been a very popular lightweight carbine.
