Why do my hotlinks constantly disappear from threads? It's not all of them , but a lot of them.

Make sure your browser / computer isn't infected. Auto removal could be affiliate or malicious links getting removed. So scan your stuff.
Also try switching browsers. You can always make a dead link and let some snarky asshole make it hot for you in the first couple of posts. |

I past the url in the link and then type "link" or whatever description in the the bottom box. I can do it and snip it tomorrow if you need me to. I also added test link in lower case above after I snipped it, but you can see the dead link.

Switch into the bbcode version (button the right of the editor that says bbcode, click until it's highlighted) and try it that way. I'm curious if something is blocking your javascript or link sharing somehow. The bbcode editor will show the hidden stuff that the other view does not. Sort of the behind the scenes stuff. If you do try the bbcode way, screenshot the window before you submit it. (It sounds like the link box is fine. You definitely are doing that right.) |

This is what is frustrating, is sometimes it works fine, and sometimes it doesn't work at all.

I would switch to using the bbcode editor for your basic editor. Something may be messing with the javascript when you go to submit a page or the content inside the box. It's definitely not you directly, you are doing everything perfectly. It could be a security plug in, it could be the browser, it could be a third party item on your pc. You could also try a different browser in the WYSIWYG mode (not bbcode) and if it works, then you know it's something tied to your browser. If it doesnt, then you know it's a larger issue on your device. |
