I have never gotten email notifications about posts made on topics I have subscribed to.
As well, I never get email notifications when I receive messages. Is there any way to enable these? |

I always get them... All day long.
Either your Prefs need changed, they get going into your spam filter or I dunno.  |

Hover over it and it can tell you what it's set to and turn them on for the ones you want. |

There's actually a problem with yahoo (this means you), when it comes to delivery. And I'm not sure why.

Same here. I stopped getting email notifications from this site a couple years ago.
