The bears around here are on electric scooters. I repel them with fresh vegetables.

I'm not overly concerned about be attacked by a bear as I don't frequent gay bars.  My sober bear friends leave me alone.

So daily I guess.

Any bears around here would be closer to Austin. Not much of a threat here from large furry gay men.

When I hiked Alaska I really wanted to see one. Or wolves. Never did though.

I have some thoughts and concerns every day about bears I walk my dogs about 3 or 4 miles every day on old  military roads behind Kodiak and  bears are pretty common, especially in late summer and fall. But they start showing up about now. So it’s always a concernAttachment Attached File

Maybe once a month when the dogs go nuts at night.

But I do worry more when I step out on the porch about a sniper, pretty much every day I look for likely spots for one to hide. Problem is I have 5.2 acres, and 4.7 of it is wooded, they would have plenty of places to hide.

I think about bear defense a few times a week. Scrutinizing my woods carry, my grilling out or working in the yard carry, the holsters I use, the loads I use and my primary rifle. I see bears in the woods surrounding my cabin on occasion and numerous times in my yard. One really large bear was sitting in my meadow watching my young son playing in the driveway last summer when I came flying out the door. I yelled and the bear didn’t seem too concerned about the hairless noisy monkey making the commotion from the big log house in the middle of his woods lol.

Pretty fucking rarely.

But someone was talking recently about camping at Glacier Park, and last week I had some pretty fucking bad dreams about getting chewed up by a damned grizzly….

So I guess I cannot honestly say NEVER!

BTW- dreams about being crushed by grizzly teeth suck!!!

I have had black bears behind the house once or twice.  Neighbors killed one in their yard.  I am not too worried about one of them.  Got between a mother black bear and her cub once when I was a kid (cub ran to me, then went up a tree!), so that was a bad situation where we got the hell out of there asap.  Pretty sure a 9mm would be fine for a black bear though if needed.

Only when there's a thread here about it. Like now.

Chance of me running into a bear here in TX is so low I'm not really concerned about it.

If you live in an area with a lot of dangerous wildlife, it's pretty normal to think about the need to dispatch them. I don't want to have to kill any animals if I can help it, but I don't go for walks unarmed. We have bobcats around here. My neighbor bought a rooster for some reason. It was eaten overnight.

Once or twice a week because one night I got complacent here hanging out in the garage at my work bench texting a buddy with my back facing the open garage door and street.
The biggest bear that runs through our neighborhood was walking in my garage behind me. I am 6'4 and have accidentally walked in to him bfore on the side of our house standing on his back legs he is taller than me.
We nick named him Bad Boy he doesn't hurt anything but he does get in to trouble here lol

He always catches me by surprise but this is the best picture I have been able to get of him. You can see his size compared to the 6ft fence.

Have four other Juveniles also.

Needs a meme of the guy and his wife in bed, with her thinking "He's probably thinking of screwing his secretary" and the guy thinking "Is 10 mm enough for a Kodiak?"
