Those pesky critters always go to the opposite side of the tree when I hunt them. Simple remedy is to get something big enough to take down the tree.

Neat!
What kind of powder /primer? Home made dies, or farmed out? |

That is awesome.

Freaking awesome, OP.
I am both disgusted and aroused by those Tommy Gun grips on that gun. |

I want one with a 7.5 inch barrel and a suppressor.

Outstanding!
I love the concept of big-bore AR10's. My ambitions are much more modest than yours... I'm dreaming of a 284 based wildcat, necked up to 416. The fatter case of the 284 should allow for a shoulder to headspace on, while it's rebated rim uses the standard 308 bolt. Not sure if it will double stack inside a mag, though, but I would be happy with even 8-10 rounds of 416/284. |

I'm ready, less talking more shooting.

That is outstanding. This should be the archetype for every GD thread: pics, explanation all in the first post.

Are you gonna neck it down to .470 and launch 500 grain bullets at 2150 fps?

That's awesome
I'd be trying to see how big of a slug I could stuff in and drive 900 fps Curious as DDs are one are of NFA rules I have zero experience in, but if it's a "destructive device" does that mean it's not a rifle, shotgun or pistol? Therefore barrel length and overall length are irrelevant? |

Trouble is, you probably would not have enough pressure to cycle the action. |

The thought of 800gr subs has crossed my mind but I cringe to think how much a custom suppressor would cost How much powder are you burning? Any of the cans that are built for 50 Beowulf would probably work. You might also see about getting one of the cans designed for 45/70 and the like bored to .510" for this. Seems like a thumper, but you're not burning 100gr of powder to get that big slug moving, and gas volume/pressure seems to be the limiting factor in using non-traditional calibers in suppressors. For instance, using 300BO subs in a 9mm can. |

If a cartridge is greater then .510 you can apply to the ATF for a sporting cartridge exemption which allows you to build said rifle without having to form 1 it. This is how things like 600NE 585 Nyati's are legal to build but only applies to single shots, bolt actions, or double rifles. It is the ATF's opinion that any semi auto's are the devil and have to be DD's regardless of configuration.

The suppressor wouldn't be a expensive as you might think. Holler at Liberty or Bowers maybe.
