Neat. I have a 458 and seeing that bullet comparison really puts this caliber into perspective.

Also thank you for explaining the DD issues. I started reading and thinking "but what about...".

Anxious to read about the range report.

Is there such a thing as a full auto DD? Or is that redundant?

I priced a bowers can for 45-70 the other day. It was $1k. They have gone up quite a bit in price

Think machinegun can be any caliber, just as the barrel and OAL can be any dimension.

Gets expensive if you move the trigger pack to another host, however.

Does anyone know if the same goes for a DD?

Does it matter if you have to buy 2 stamps for a 20mm Oerlikon?

Only one stamp is required for FA. Diameter and barrel length are negated by F/A. Our laws  are pants on head retarded.

MG doesn't cover DD.   A full auto DD requires two stamps.

The problem was asking for permission. If I understand @Ben right, the law says if the owner intends it for only sporting purposes it's not a DD.

But you gave ATF the chance to say no.

Given that ATF reserves the ability to kick in your door at 0600 and shoot you in the face, OP chose the more conservative of the courses.

This thread just got a lot more interesting!

Thank you for all that you do for the community Tony. I have one of your 458 SOCOM uppers and it has been flawless. Glad to hear you're working on some new stuff!
