I was inspired by @DK-Prof to try my hand at making a pipe for myself first (and make mistakes) and for my father later.

The shape ended up being a panel pot. It's kind of ugly, but it sits wonderfully and is a good 45 minute pipe. Sits great in the hand too.

It'd hard to get the taper of the bowl in the picture, but I made my own bit for it, out of a modified spade bit.

And the Ashtray.

Smoked the pipe for the first time tonight. So glad I went with the 5/32 draw hole. Smooth, no moisture building, no turbulence. Very cool smoke.

It's ugly, but it's my ugly and I couldn't be happier with it.

The tray is for my father, it's the 3rd (?) I've made out of locally cut aspen.

The resin came out nice on this one.

Thank you! I made some mistakes in the process but I didn't mess up the drilling, which is the critical part. Just gotta work on design more

Looks nice.

Always thought it'd be fun to try making one.

Mr. Brog makes pre-drilled blocks you can finish.

Lol just leave it like that and call it a custom pipe!

Kidding aside that'd be great for people without tools like a press or lathe. Takes the hard part out!

You should do it! I had a blast trying
