Can't fool me. Those are rejected Star Wars props.

What's the three barreled one in the bottom left?  I'm guessing it had some weird volley fire setup.

He was a former sonar man on a US sub apparently and he has more info than you'd probably ever want on Russian subs.

Very interesting stuff if you're even mildly into that kind of thing.

I just got done re-reading Red Storm Rising, and am right in the middle of another trip through the Hunt for Red October, so this link (and thread) interests me.

AN-2 Colt.  We leased one of those for several years. Don’t fly into a strong head wind unless you like going backwards.

There is an AN-2 at the Dover AFB MAC Museum although I heard they were trying to get rid of it because it is a budget black hole that has no association with the base or MAC. Last word was they were going to give it to the War Relics Shop in Argo's Corner/Milford DE just before the Chyna flu shutdowns. The wings have to be removed for transport as Wide Load trailer for the 20 mile trip south of the base.

Russians are quite inventive when it comes to weapons and aerospace, and their stuff looks cool from a distance. However, every piece of Russian weaponry, and every Russian aircraft, I've seen up close has looked like dogshit compared to their Western equivalents.

Their engineers may be good, but the manufacturing isn't.

The Vostok Amphibia diver's watch is a perfect example. Open one up and you may very well find finger smudges and metal mill shavings stuck in the oil to the case interior like I did in mine. I have often wished that a well known watch house would license Vostok's design and make a high-quality, properly manufactured Amphibia...and it would be fucking awesome.

I have no doubt.

Cues.

Here's a few interesting ones that I've taken. I have some of the artillery museum too but I can't seem to find them...
