Why would they tie off of that decrepit PoS when there are plenty of other spots to tie up? The only time I've seen US ships tie up like that is if parking is cramped, or they are moving supplies and/or doing repairs.

That rust bucket looks worse than the WWII boat at Patriot's Point.

Well, they are Russians, they barely scrap anything and at the time when the sub was tied up there, it was most likely in a better condition.

And without orders from a really high place nobody will take the responsibility and do anything about this rust bucket.

Somewhere in this thread I posted pictures of abandoned bases, the soldiers just packet their personal belongings, stole everything valuable and left the base. Anything to big to be stolen was just left behind, trucks, planes, tanks... these places are looking like the soldiers will come back from a break ten minutes later.

That's a decent cage. Seems like a lot of them are top of turret only  and so many drone drop/attack videos are of them hitting the back deck or flying under the cage.

But then it becomes impractical.

This T-90M's hull have number "Щ08ВТ9745", that is means that hull is made in 1994 (literally it's the upgraded T-90 Obr.1992)

The number decoding:

Щ - stands for the 1994
08 - stands for the month (august)
ВТ - stands for the "The Nizhny Tagil Wagon Factory", or just the UVZ (Нижнетагильский вагоностроительный завод)
9745 - serial number

There is also another number on the hull "1Р5Л02ВТ", it's a repair number. I don't know how to decipher this number because the old decoding system doesn't work for it.

Images are from "Army-2021" exhibition.

Images of the "main assembly line of the country" during the visit of Putin. See for yourself, you can see that UVZ is still running 50% as a repair plant, not a new production facility.
T-72B3, some BMPTs and T-90Ms are on the same line - this of course very "simplifies" the production, although there is nothing to say about unification. Stands for welding "Relikt" were never purchased, the tenders failed.
In general, what can I say - they make products - ugly, crooked, but, compared to Germany, quite mass-produced.

The Russian much-hyped dome EW
The design of the jamming modules was questionable,
It is based on a set of modules for narrow sections of ranges. All at 30 watts. What you buy is what you get.

That's Ukraine's sub as she was getting ready for refurb. It rejoined the fleet in June 2013 and was captured by the Russians in March 2014. The Russians said they were going to return it along with the rest of the fleet 5 or 6 times but then decided not to.

Outside of a fictional movie, I wouldn't want to go to sea on a 50+ year old soviet submarine. Seems like a good way to kill ~80 people.

I wonder if they're using it simply as an APC, or as a mortar carrier?  If they're using it for mortars, are they using western shells, or can the mortar switch out to some Soviet garbage?
