For a 2" lift though, go OME and don't look back. Why do you not like either company? It's not that I "don't like either company," I just don't like their suspension offerings for the TJ over other options. They put a lot more time into the JK as far as jeeps go, and have some good stuff there... but still not what I'd run there either. However, I'd pick BDS for my F150 in an instant. You can't go wrong with 2.5in OME springs and OME shocks. I doubt you will find a single person that does not like them. Once you get into arms, track bar, etc. is where BDS and Teraflex really fall behind other companies like Currie/Savvy, Metalcloak, Rokmen, and JKS (to an extent). Example, I run 2.5in OME HD springs, OME shocks, JKS F&R track bars, JKS disconnects, Rokmen JJ control arms, Rokmen tummy tuck/skids currently. JKS front track bar will go for Metalcloak when I move to 3.5in Metalcloak springs on matching Metalcloak or OME shocks. Steering will be Currie/Savvy. Fenders/corner armor will be Metalcloak. For underbody, I prefer Rokmen and that's what I've got there. I have no brand preference other than picking a combination that works well together. Currie/Savvy or Metalcloak arms could easily replace the Rokmen ones and vice versa, but not so with the BDS or teraflex ones, Rokmen just happened to have a killer deal at the time I was buying the transfer case lift/skid. |

The DPG ultimate kit is solid. If it was my money, I'd get the Deluxe and go with Metalcloak for the trackbars. A bit more clearance than the JKS ones.
The browndog motor mounts are well worth the upgrade if your motor mounts are worn, but I'd go with poly vs the rubber on the TJ. I run the browndog HD engine brackets and poly 1in mounts on the TJ, on my XJ I have the rubber mounts (because unibody). As far as "breaking" anything vs it wearing out eventually, you simply won't. |

You can build up a sweet rig from the DPG Deluxe + MC trackbars without replacing any of those parts. Basically what I started with. |

Generally speaking, EasTexan, over 2" of lift on a TJ and you're 'pushing it' on the driveline vibes. You didn't mention how much lift you've got on there.
There's really only two fixes. The 'correct' fix is to install a Slip-yoke eliminator on the back of the transfer case, and a new driveshaft. This eliminates the problem. You can also patch it by 'fixing' the driveline angles, either by lowering the transfer case (if the vibes are small, a couple washers on each side might work), or by raising the front of the motor (a motor mount lift). The latter really requires a body lift as well, to fit. |

However, I like a 1 -1.25 inch body lift to set up a tummy tuck... SYE is where its at though, think of it this way. lowering your t case reverses the suspension lift you just put on. |

If you are going to use it infrequently, for recovery - a Smittybilt or Quadratec winch, 9500 lbs & up will work fine for a stock JKU. The heavier you make your rig, or the more stuff you haul - the bigger you'll want to go in size. We've used the 9500lb Smittybilt mounted to the JK to pull my high-centered FJ80 out of a mud hole, and it's as heavy as most JKU's. If you plan on using it all the time, I guess save for the Warn. But most Warns are being made in Chinese factories as well these days from what I hear. When I get a winch for the Landcruiser - if I buy new, it'll be another Smittybilt, probably the 12K model. We like to go exploring, in some remote locations. Having a winch is peace of mind - plus it's actually got me out of a sticky situation or two. |

Thanks for the winch advice. Would be infrequent use, most likely, and not at the top of my list right now but I'll do some looking around based on what you guys posted.

View Quote Also look into using a snatch block to increase the pulling capacity. The Warn link below contains winching do's and dont's: http://www.warn.com/corporate/images/90/TechGuide_PN62885-A2.pdf |

There are over 550 million firearms in worldwide circulation. That's one firearm for every twelve people on the planet. The only question is: How do we arm the other 11?
