I have i driven by the sign, but I don’t remember how busy it was and it was the daytime. I wanted to take a picture of my girlfriend wearing lingerie or maybe less under trenchcoat and have her kind of flash it. I use my camera with flash. I’m wondering if I can get away with this if I do it in the middle of the night or early morning or are there always people around that sign taking pictures, i dont want to get arrested or anything.

Lingerie will not be an issue at all. Nude would likely get you some unwanted attention but the odds are you will escape before anyone can do anything.
There are police cameras in the parking lot. |

I think you'll be fine. First off, you're likely the very first person to have thought of this, so the authorities will be completely unprepared. I think there are NO traffic cameras or other forms of surveillance watching that spot, so it's going to be safe. Good call on "middle of night" for this act. I've driven by there about midnight and there was at least one parking spot open, plus the line to stand in front of the sign was actually very short. By 1:am I think it's going to be completely empty.

Topless is not illegal most places so bikini bottom thong only is probably not going to be a problem just have a white mens dress shirt unbuttoned and work with it. Sundown last half hour of natural light sun behind + fill flash.
Yep can’t possibly have been done before…… Two minutes tops and poof - gone. Frame the sign upper left or upper right 1/3 Model much closer with sign in background understand depth of field is gained either by using a slightly wide angle lens or by aperture priority smaller aperture w/ slower shutter speed say 1/30 second or 1/60 sec at those speeds movement will blur but if you set the shot up with a tripod then she walks into the frame flashed strikes four or five posed and goes back to the car you could get a great shot. Find a private location before the test what shutter speed ASA and lens you want to work with . With a 300 mm lens you could be a block away from the sign but with. A 35mm lens you would be close. The long lens compressed distance. A reallly good image has 1.Foreground 2.Subject 3. Background Often a plant or flowers etc can create foreground low left and low right that frame the subject and block distracting elements. |

I have seen a pic or two taken there of total nude women, No one blinks an eye at it. Walk up in a coat, drop coat, snap a pic or two and walk away.
Same people showed me pics of themselves dead smack in the middle of times square, the Chinese theater in Cali and several other places. You have according to them 10 to 15 seconds before anyone even notices. |
