What are you using them for? What is the best brand?
They work great for removing paint from your bumper after backing into another car in a parking lot, in Minecraft.
They will make cleaning a bathtub so much faster.
Like if you have any soap scum, it just falls right off using a Magic Eraser. |
We've always used Mr. Clean brand.
Use them judiciously. They work because, at the microscopic level, they have a very jagged surface of sharp peaks that basically scrape out all the dirt. It's all mechanical - no soap/solvents/etc. So if you rub too vigorously, you'll "sand" the surface or even take paint off the walls. Knock yourself out with metals, ceramics, etc. But be careful on wood, drywall and similar soft surfaces. |

Posterity! You will never know, how much it cost the present Generation, to preserve your Freedom! I hope you will make a good Use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven, that I ever took half the Pains to preserve it.---John Adams

Pre-clean the inside of your car or truck windows with one, it gets rid of the oily film from out-gassing plastic better than glass cleaner does. You still have to use glass cleaner afterwards but you don't get as many streaks.

Buy them for pennies on amazon. Melamine sponge.
Great for removing dirt and smudge marks from walls if you have egg shell or semi-gloss paint.
Be careful on your fiberglass boat too.

View Quote Using them to remove scuffs off your wall paint is one thing because eventually you are going to repaint and you are unlikely to use them on the same spot many times. Using them over and over and over on say your bathtub though...you are sanding away the thing you want gone and so you are also risking sanding away some of the surface finish. |

If the sides of the soles of your athletic shoes are white, they work pretty good at cleaning them.

Tricks? Use it damp, not wet. They work much better and are more forgiving.

Cut the Magic Eraser to size and place between the baffles of an airgun (if the airgun has baffles) to further reduce noise.

They work great. I accidentally used them instead of the loofah and I magically erased most of my ass cheek

However, the Brand name ones I'm pretty sure are infused or something with some borax and/or other cleaning solution. That said though, the bare sponges and so much cheaper and do 97% the same job. |

The Mr Clean brand will remove the soot off your woodstove glass and will not scratch.
Ive used them for years. Dishwashing liquid, a touch of vinegar and tap water. |

We've used it for several years. I am often amazed how well they work on a variety of surfaces.
Most resent amazement- my wife was able to remove old info on a common plastic for sale sign. Magic eraser removed 2019 Ford F-150 written in black Sharpie. It did so with very little effort. The for sale sign now says 2016 Forest River XLR Nitro. Anyone looking for a toy hauler? |

It's nothing but sandpaper on a sponge. I had a buddy used it on the upholstery of his boat. I said dude you realize that's just sandpaper and you're taking off the surface of your vinyl seats. Sure enough that's what happened

Don't use them for a DIY fleshlight.
Stick to the normal yellow sponges. |

It will look clean, but the magic erasers get the rest of it like nothing. |

Don't use them to scrub Magic Marker off your arm....

Big bulk boxes of knockoffs are a ton cheaper than the Mr Clean ones on Amazon. Just make sure they’re not super-low-quality ones. Search for melamine sponges.
I use them to clean my boat. My house cleaner uses them all the time. |
