Stupid expensive but its time to upgrade. My 3rd overall miter saw. My old one smoker bearings, I think the motor bearings. Sound very weird and did not cut straight. I had the Rigid saw for 9 years. It was one of my first tools.

My old Ridig was 10" non slider. The new Bosch is a 12" slider.

I got the saw from Lowes, $639 with discount. I am waiting on my new blade to get here before I do any cutting with it.

I have a 12" slider from Hitachi. Cuts decent but kinda heavy. Would be great if I had a shop with room for it to stay in place and mounted.

My biggest (and oldest) Powermatic table saw is currently in need of some bearings replaced. Not 'critical' need yet but getting close...

So long as I properly maintain it - That saw WILL outlive me.


Will bet money his new Bosch comes with Chinesium bearings that will most definitely need replacing in short order if the tool is actually put to heavy or hard use. Just like the newer Porter Cable junk, the newer Dewalt junk and so on...

Pro tip: Have a bearing supplier already lined up that offers 'quality' parts beforehand and don't skimp on the bearings with tools you really depend on. As in - Don't replace 'china bearings' with 'china bearings'...
