I wonder how drones are decreasing this area of the hobby.

The helicopter segment of the hobby is dead.

Not sure if good or.bad overall.

One thing I have noticed is a lot of people now won't buy a helicopter with "rescue".

Wrong bro. It's actually blowing up with more new models from more manufacturers being released.

Most FBLs have the rescue feature available if you want to enable it. Are you talking about the RTFs like Goosky and OMP?

Lot more people have one of the RTF helicopters now, probably a fair statement.

We used to have a number of US based manufacturers like Century, Synergy and Miniature Aviation.  Synergy is maybe sorta still around,  hopefully they can make it happen.

Used to have 2.5 heli based vendors, if you counted HeliDirect.  Now we have .5 if you count HeliDirect.  I miss Ricks and Heliproz.

IRCHA Jamboree attendance has been on the decline, though covid certainly hurt.

At least Align has taken enough of a break from manufacturing vacuums to make helis.

Surprisingly Amain has a grip of Heli stuff. Them and Helidirect are my main gotos for heli stuff. There are also some smaller vendors that have unique and rare parts like Anything Heli and AlignTrex shop. Hell, I've even ordered parts from Australia. Synergy still makes Helis but not as active like Sab, XLPower and Goosky.

The newer FBLs and Radios really make it easier to get into the hobby now which is awesome. There a lot of clones out too with stability and Geo fencing that make it less intimidating to beginners I think.
