Mark Galer (Sony ambassador; I don't expect anyone other than Sony-philes to know who he is) suggests BenQ has a great gamut and color science... issue is, the one he uses is like $1k, refurbushed.

Anyone know anything about the rest of their (more affordable ) lineup?

Looking at this one: BenQ EW3270U Multimedia 31.5" 16:9 4K HDR FreeSync VA Monitor.

It's a little bigger than I need, but it's a good price and specs appear to be decent.

I have been using this one for a few months now. Got it for $300.

The color is good, but I am not a professional so I can't really grade it. It's a little a little large for regular computer tasks like internet but it's great for photo editing. I also do a lot of CAD work on it and the extra real estate is awesome to have.

I spent hours trying to get it to work with my graphics card (GTX 1070) and could not get it to display anything via HDMI or DP even after updating all the drivers for everything even remotely related to monitors and graphics, and ended up just running it off the mobo.

Overall I am happy with it.

Their proofing monitors are great. I use a (discontinued now) sw2700pt that was $700 or so from B&H about 5 years ago. 99% aRGB, 99% sRGB, built in calibration hardware, etc.

I recommend taking a look at the Asus line, particularly when Microcenter or B&H Photo puts them on sale.

I have a PA279CV and PA329C
