This elephant in my hometown went to great lengths trying to escape captivity in the early 20th century.

Hopefully only a tranquilizer and the elephepant can be sent to an elephant rescue.

There are certain animals that I believe have a near-human like mind, and elephants are one of them. Being all couped up in a cage makes an animal like that crazy.

They might not rate rights in the same way humans do, but they surely rate basic dignity.

I saw what they did to Ziggy in Chicago.

If I recall correctly, that was Thomas Edison’s stunt to show how dangerous alternating current was and DC was much safer.

All to try and shut down tesla.

That's exactly what it was - a publicity stunt to throw a bad light on Tesla and AC. Thank goodness it didn't work or we'd have power plants every square mile or two along with massive transmission cables everywhere.

Edison was a narrow-minded thieving egomaniac.

Apparently, 87 rounds of 9mm will take an angry elephant down.

Thomas Edison did that to prove how "dangerous" Tesla's AC power was, IIRC.
