Bought this and started working on it back in 2017. Sold the ski I was going to use to push it in 2018 and it has been sitting in my shop parking lot since then. This past year I have been messing with it here and there when I have time, and finally it is getting dropped off for paint.

I also bought the Seadoo that will be powering it this past weekend. So I will be breaking that in for 10hrs before it pushes it.

That seems like a fun way to leave your friends floating in the middle of a lake while you create huge waves with the jet ski and soak them with rooster tails.

There was a standing rule when I used to ride that if you stopped and stood on your ski to take a piss in the middle of the lake, you WERE going to get rocked by a huge wave.  My buddy was a bit miffed when he forgot and went in with his phone and wallet, along with a capsized jet ski.

That is some incredibly detailed work and I don’t think any manufacturer would do as good a job. But if I may ask, are you retired or severely OCD? That had to have taken an incredible number of man hours to accomplish

My best friend has one very similar. Amazing little things! You can drop of your people and take turns riding the ski. Put a good sound system in.

I will be improving it slightly but it just slides in between the two walls that have been adjusted to tight tolerance, slide until the nose hits the cradle at the front. Once the ski is in a strap is placed at the back to keep the ski in.

I will be improving the side walls to keep the ski from rising off the ledge it's resting on. As well as molding a fiberglass cradle for the nose of the ski.

Or a boat I can beach on one of the deserted small islands in the keys. Then I can pull the ski out and have something to play with. Shallow draft and jet drive, for exploring the keys and sand bar activities it is far superior to a boat.

was it designed to do this?

Just eyeballing it, seems like you're going to be putting a lot of stress in places a boat designer didn't reinforce to  begin with. I am not talking bluesky days so much as under load in some chop and trying to make some quickish turns to avoid flotsam.

Feel like you may get to watch one of the back legs of the 'U' depart from the craft. Also, will the ski pivot in the mount, or is the entire craft supposed to flex?

... don't get me wrong, innovate the shit out of that. I know a guy with a floating picnic table.  I think I am misusing a finance term, but I feel like his sunk costs are going to be way less than yours...

also, you are going to try and seal that stereo locker up, right, not just pass all those wires through?

shit dude, you could make some bank around here doing the aquatic version of being the golf course beer cart. Add some 1 gal cans of $25 gas...

Then, if the fish police comes, you can just unhook and boogie. No way they catch the motorcycle of the sea!

Interesting concept, but it seems like they aren't made anymore for a reason? Has to be a lot of wear/rubbing on both the shuttle and the PWC, no matter how good the mating system may be.

So, why didn't it catch on?

So, beautiful work but you're going to run that amp in a nice sealed non-ventilated box in hot summer weather?

Have done around 16,000 vehicles or more in my lifetime, there's a good reason we don't put amps in places where they can't breathe.

ETA: And I don't see any rubber on the front or backside of your amp where you have it bolted in. You really need some shock absorbage in the marine environment, boats are subjected to waaaay more shock than cars are. Trust me on this dude, I did it for a living for 20 years, and have worked on at least a thousand boats.

Not trying to bust yer balls here, it's obvious you have serious skills and equipment and must work on stuff like this a lot, the work is gorgeous. I'm just coming at it from the perspective of a guy who's had to do a lot of warranty work and exchanges due to people focused solely on pretty work and not taking precautions to insure the life of the equipment.
