Forward facing light sensor works damn well. Top load battery is a welcomed change. Ive shot a bunch of different Holosuns, ACRO P2s, and the cheaper dots out there. They have all left me wanting. Holosuns have edge distortion to me, P2 is nice but its like looking through a damn soda straw. But, you pay for it. Not cheap by any means. I think there are much better values to be had in a dot. |

Reason #887 open emitters are trash for "duty" type carry. I'm a big fan of "run what ya brung" aka, shoot what you're going to shoot when it matters, so I decided to shoot my carry gun P10c with 507 in our rainy 2 gun match this weekend. And theeeen...
Attached File Finished out the match with my MPS equipped P07. Truth is I knew I would want to switch at some point in between stages due to a combination of fog, rain and mud, but it did happen sooner than I expected. 2nd stage dot was gone, completely indistinguishable in the lens. Needed q tips to get the emitter cleared. |

Just pointing out that these things do indeed fail in inclement weather. It's a thing. Sure it can be rinsed in water and usually be back in action, but I was fresh out of water in the middle of a stage.
Depending on the angle I held the gun when shooting l, the dot was either totally missing, split or fragmented, or just an indistinguishable blur. I cleared the stage, just didn't want to lose time again by missing some of the more difficult pistol shots. I have many open emitters, still not the wisest thing to run in a muddy 2 gun match where prone in the mud is inevitable. Attached File I had to aim with the lower left of this blob and not the brighter spot on the right lol Attached File |

Well, somehow I managed to crack the glass in my 507K on my carry pistol. It's up in the top left corner. The optic still works, but I'm wondering if Holosun might be able to fix it. I've heard mixed info regarding their customer service.
