I have dodge 2500 steel rims for it and tires selected. No more split rims and run flats. Pain to deal with. |

Wheel studs are just now entering production.
I got 20 despite only needing 16. 4 extra gives me a few spares. Plus it was the minimum order from ti64.com. |

List of the things to fix on both vehicles. 1 indicates priority (to get it running), 2 less pressing but needed, 3 a nice to do thing.
I'll let you guess what color corresponds with each vehicle Attached File Attached File Attached File |

I am still fascinated by the idea of owning a personal armored car, but you have disabused me of the notion of ever doing so w/ an ex-military VIC.

View Quote Nothing wrong with it. It's just working one weekend every couple months doesn't do much. If I had a flexible schedule and more time I could have had this done years ago. I want the vehicles done my way so they are done right and preserved. |

With the tires on and the springs being completely redone with new shocks the vehicle rides about 6" higher.
Before with the worn out shocks and flat springs Attached File After Attached File I might even be able to squeeze some slightly bigger tires on it. I plan on repainting it once the vehicle is up and running. Roland by July, BRDM by the end of the year. And I'm already thinking about getting a 3rd vehicle A Jesterka, Peacekeeper, or maybe another BRDM or a Grenadier. Who knows. |

I have to say, your Swiss VIC looks a lot easier to service than the BRDM. Is the BRDM more heavily armored?

Smaller and closer to the ground, too. I just ordered the front knuckle seals for the roland and brake clips off amazon and ebay. Going to get an update for the wheel studs. Got the first Tie rod end out. Attached File M35ben and I are going to press out the other side on Sunday and I will get them to Napa for review. I'll change the oil on the Roland steering gearbox Tuesday once the 80/90 GL4 gear oil arrives. |

BRDM is more armored but has less room inside for people. Roland is more fun and easier to drive around. Roland can be driven solo and is really quick for 5 and a half tons. Each has its ups and downs and is beautiful in my eyes. Originally Posted By elcope: Ideas for the BRDM.
